NYU ABSN Fall 2013 Entry

Hello everyone! I have submitted my application and my transcripts to NYU for the ABSN program beginning in fall 2013! I am very excited but surprised that we will be hearing so late about an admission decision. Is anyone else applying?

--Any thoughts on timing of LOR receipt as it relates to your "date-in-by" for consideration as priority versus regular deadline. I know that the NYUCN website says: "Applications will not be considered for admission until all required documents (including letters of recommendation and official college transcripts) are submitted to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions," If one LOR was received prior to priority 3/1/13 and the other after but before regular 4/1/13, would you think that you've technically met the priority deadline?

I think that because its being recommended rather than required to submit the LOR it shouldn't be an issue. Considering the fact that they allow letters to be faxed or emailed in case they're not received etc I would assume one would still be considered a priority applicant.

I called a few times to ask in regards to my LOR and asked the same question but they don't seem to know either. I'm guessing that as long as they got your application and check and transcript, everything else is not an issue.

Well, I am hoping that if they don't have a fast-and-steady ruling or definition of the timing, it is probably safe to assume (or at least be hopefull) that the meeting the priority applicant date is not an issue. I can't believe it has been this long, but seems like an equally long amount of time until we find out. tick tock tick tock!!!

Me too... I know its highly unlikely that I will get in as I wasn't the most studious 17 yr old... But a girl can hope... Hope & pray

Can everyone share there GPA stats please if that is ok mine is a 3.4 and i am really worried.

arakhim- Don't worry until a few days before the letter is sent haha...on earlier posts people wrote that they take your essay and recommendations with great consideration. GPA isn't everything, which is how every school should be. I have a 3.5 in overall and 3.8 in pre-reqs with 2 years hospital volunteer experience.

yes, please do not worry about your GPA

I got accepted to NYU for January start date and I went to a college that did not give grades!!

NYU looks at the whole applicant, not just numbers.

imagine we all get in, we can form our own little study group.

I know I shouldn't think too ahead but I cant help the excitement.
