Hi guys, I applied for the new grad program at NYP and got an email saying that because I didn't list a preference for a specialty, I'd be put on the waiting list and the people on the waiting list will be contacted before NYP posts anymore positions for new grads. Did anyone else get on the waiting list and actually get an interview? If so, how long did it take for you to get an interview?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Did anyone apply to the NYP new grad position and NOT get put on the waiting list? That e-mail looked like a generic one that just got sent to everyone that applied regardless. Just seems like no one is saying they got a rejection e-mail for the new grad position.
I applied dozens of times and didn't get put on the waiting list. I got "you were not selected for an interview, apply again later" something of that sort.
Don't have a dog in this hunt, nor any sort of inside track information, but with Saint Vincent's only recently shut down, there are over 500 experience RNs from that hospital on the NYC job market.
The shut down of St. Vinny's happened really fast despite it's well covered financial woes, leaving many healthcare workers from doctors and nurses to janitors left in the lurch.
One NYC area hospital network announced all external hiring of nurses would cease to give preference to displaced St. Vinny's people.
