  1. I finished my new hire paperwork last week because I have to go back home to get things done before heading back to California for the official move in! There's so many things to think about... health insurance, other insurance options, retirement, and the list goes on - it's all nerve-wracking but oh so exciting! I don't know how many people are being hired for the PICU. I think it's a combination of experienced and new grad nurses because during my new hire paperwork meeting I met a girl who is starting in the PICU and she had worked in the PICU for about 4 years now.
  2. Peachsnapple and AngeRN09, I'm so excited to meet you girls! I'm new to the area and so don't have many friends besides family. It's nice to meet you new people, especially those that will understand what you're going through these first few months of training! I called Sheri a week ago and asked her about an official offer letter and she told me that we won't be receiving an official offer letter. They don't do that, but if you need something along the line of an offer letter she could write you an unofficial letter claiming that you've been hired to work as an RN for UCLA Mattel. See you Aug 23rd! :) L
  3. I've been searching for apartments in the area too and the pricing for apartments in Los Angeles is seriously different from Minnesota. Does your apartment still have vacancies, preferably studio or 1 bed/1 bath? You can PM me the information if you'd like :)
  4. I'm so excited (but very, very nervous) to start in PICU! Good luck to everyone and I'll probably see some of you at orientation!
  5. For those who were just hired, when do you start working?
  6. PVT gave you the "good pop up" three previous times even though you didn't pass?
  7. I took the test this morning and got 250-something questions. I felt like crap afterwards and seriously cried in the car. Tried PVT and got the good pop up, but it doesn't feel real until BON says it is. I also keep on thinking the pop up is a dream. Good luck everyone!
  8. I also took it today and tried the PVT trick and got the "good pop up." My delivery status was successful, but the website also had this sentence in red "Your exam results are not available at this time." What does this mean? Does the PVT still work for me? Did you have that also? I have so many questions! I just want to know if this affects the "good pop up." Thanks!
  9. I'm also taking the dreaded test tomorrow. Good luck to us!
  10. I think you passed! :) How'd the test go for you?
  11. I also applied to the program, and after not hearing from them in so long, I assumed that they finished hiring for the positions or selected internals. I could be wrong. I hope I'm wrong.
  12. All these facts are so helpful. Thanks!
  13. I've applied to a bunch of places in Washington and nothing yet, but you've got a much better chance than me since you've got 1 yr of experience so I'd say GO FOR IT. Try!
  14. I've heard great things about BOTH hospitals so either one would be a great place to work at.
