Nybon Nursing School Under Investigation

Nursing Students School Programs Nursing Q/A

I finished my LPN-RN program from Carleen Health Institute. I took the NCLEX under New York state board and passed the exam. I'd been waiting on the license a couple of weeks and decided to call NYbon, was told the school is under review - hence they would not be issuing any licenses till the review is done. They also wouldn't give a time frame. Does anyone have any idea how long these reviews usually take or what could be done in situations like this?

Not following laws properly  orr low passing rate which causes loss of accreditation

Most of the Florida storefront Strip mall schools never even attempt accreditation. Accreditation traces where the  tuition $ goes, what $ is in reserve and do not want to see that the $$ is going into the owners pocket. Accreditors also spend a tremendous amount of time to determine that there are money reserves in the college and an adequate source coming in yearly to continue the program. Another very stringent area of an accreditor' review is the education  and achievements of the faculty. Schools need more than an RN (no additional adress) teaching and RN student. Shouldn't faculty need to be able to do research (even if it is just a literature review? do help students look to the future. Finally, we all had to show skills excellence -- how do we teach a skill of we cannot do it ourselves?>

Another BIG area is how the faculty teach...and REALLY mean teach....You can not leave floundering students to teach themselves. I read this on this side often...."I can teach my self"! Then what are you paying tuition for, fool

I just want NY to send my exam verification results to Florida. I'm not asking for a NY license.

When a school is under review by NYS and you have already passed the NCLEX but have not gotten an official NYS license this is what you do

You can  go on  NYS BON website request written verification when it asks for license # just put 000000 and then have it sent to the satet you want to be licensed in

What about BSN programs that don't use any credits from the previous school? The program requires RN licensure, not transfers from other nursing schools.  They are ACEN accredited.

What school is this ? I tried applying to 2 schools and they’re requiring my transcripts which I have no access too because the school won’t take my calls because of the investigation they have gone completely ghost.

if you have taken NCLEX and passed you should be able to request a score report be sent to your school ( if they will accept that) and then once a bachelor's degree as been earned use that as the education aspect for Nursing application and no a new one will not need to be submitted unless it has been longer then 5 years since orginally was submitted

Does this work for any state or only Florida ? Can I endorse to another state using this process. I am licensed in Florida but unable to endorse anywhere outside of Florida.

There has been a change to the  NYS BON policy of sending out a passing grade report, for nurses who went to a school that is currently under review. (I.E. Palm Beach, Techni-Pro, Azure)

Previously, if an applicant went to an under review school and had managed to pass the NCLEX exam, but was not granted a license, then they could request that a passing grade report be mailed to another state. They would use this passing grade report as a basis for becoming licensed in the other state , but they could not endorse the license back to New York at this time.

From now on NYS BON will no longer send the passing grade results to another state. The file is on-hold and we will not verify the applicants information to the other state. they will no longer offer this as an option or fullfill the caller's request

No updates on schools but was told that if your nursing school is under review and you passed, going to another nursing school will not help because a) you aren't permitted to take exam again b) it still all boils now to the school information that originally  made you eligible for NCLEX.... so bottom line  don't hold your breath on NYS right now.

@starr2022 according to Pearson view you can. They will just override the system and according to the New York Board of Nursing you just have to update your education to be issued the license if you take that route as to going back to school.

OK. It all makes sense. But don't understand why they revoked license, was it due to something medically filed against you. Cause in 2021 this school was not on hold. And also its been know that there have been a red flag raised on a group of people in Washington for not actually attending the school

My friend went to carleen for the review after she couldn't pass the exit at southeastern college she is now freaking out that they might revoke her license, she's license in Florida don't if she can move to another compact state to work as an RN she got her license beginning of 2020.

Nurses may only hold a compact license in the state in which they legally reside. If she moves, she will need to become licensed in the new state. If the new state won't endorse her license, then she's a little stuck.

I think she was license in ny and results on hold which is true for educational review

Not sure if you guys were talking about me. I know one of you keeping asking if my license get revoked. No. I did not get revoked. My license still active in Florida. I graduated from Florida and not from NY. I also took Florida exam and get multi compact state. The problem I encountered is when I try to endorsed my RN license to my state which is Washington and they denied my application because the school is unaccredited and did not meet Washington minimum requirements.

What I'm trying to understand is that if 3 schools were part of the fraud investigation by FBI and were reported on the news why are other people posting that these other schools were part of it? The other schools weren't mentioned on the news so let's not start spreading information that we don't have all the details on.

the other schools that are being mentioned are because NYS or other states are reviewing them not necessairily federally. they can still be getting transcripts for people who did not actually go to the school. or to a school that isn't even offering a nursing program.... I heard there is a school in florida   when searched is coming up as a theology school yet NYS has been getting transcripts from people saying they got ASN from that school.

a reliable source

Guys this will be probably my last post here

The starr lady is correct . All these schools currently on the list are being investigated. This was confirmed today from a super reliable source .

I want to say if you actually went to one of these schools and have evidence that u actually have the designated clinical and classroom hours to stay the course and fight for your profession.

However, if you're a fraud and bought a diploma or transcript hang it up it's over . The investigation is coming hard .

To the people with the appropriate documentation seek legal counsel and be prepared it's not over til it's over .

I wish u all the best !
