I finished my LPN-RN program from Carleen Health Institute. I took the NCLEX under New York state board and passed the exam. I'd been waiting on the license a couple of weeks and decided to call NYbon, was told the school is under review - hence they would not be issuing any licenses till the review is done. They also wouldn't give a time frame. Does anyone have any idea how long these reviews usually take or what could be done in situations like this?
Thats ruff. So I guess nj hospitals don't want compact. They want a license from nj. Have u tired to apply for nj license?

Learn to look at pass rates --those students who pass the NCLEX.. Carleen has DISMAL rates.
https://floridasnursing.gov/forms/RN-pass-rate-1q-2021.pdf Look at pages 26 and more! To make it easier, you can just add the page number at the top.
I kinda doubt if Carleen got sick she would want one of her graduates take care of her....
Its wrong for the students that went to get held back. They need to look at who went to the school when they were off the board. Cause if u started after that should be questioned
I have no idea. Let me know how it goes. What school did u go to for BSN?

Most of the Florida storefront Strip mall schools never even attempt accreditation. Accreditation traces where the tuition $ goes, what $ is in reserve and do not want to see that the $$ is going into the owners pocket. Accreditors also spend a tremendous amount of time to determine that there are money reserves in the college and an adequate source coming in yearly to continue the program. Another very stringent area of an accreditor' review is the education and achievements of the faculty. Schools need more than an RN (no additional adress) teaching and RN student. Shouldn't faculty need to be able to do research (even if it is just a literature review? do help students look to the future. Finally, we all had to show skills excellence -- how do we teach a skill of we cannot do it ourselves?>
Another BIG area is how the faculty teach...and REALLY mean teach....You can not leave floundering students to teach themselves. I read this on this side often...."I can teach my self"! Then what are you paying tuition for, fool
I honestly don't know. U would have to call the board of the state u want your license to see what they say. I don't know if the go by the school u got license from. Call nybon and ask. It's best to know for sure
@londonflo I also agree that your being completely negative when we are all trying to uphold a positive atmosphere here. Sorry for your personal experiences you went through but I don’t think this is the right thread to complain or place misdirecting frustration. If your not sharing anything useful or uplifting please move along. God bless

When a school is under review by NYS and you have already passed the NCLEX but have not gotten an official NYS license this is what you do
You can go on NYS BON website request written verification when it asks for license # just put 000000 and then have it sent to the satet you want to be licensed in

What about BSN programs that don't use any credits from the previous school? The program requires RN licensure, not transfers from other nursing schools. They are ACEN accredited.

The only way that will work is if school is willing to send an official transcript showing that you have graduated from a BSN nursing program and with a degree and graduation date. but if they are waiting for you to take and pass NCLEX first than you are still stuck.

What school is this ? I tried applying to 2 schools and they’re requiring my transcripts which I have no access too because the school won’t take my calls because of the investigation they have gone completely ghost.

Does this work for any state or only Florida ? Can I endorse to another state using this process. I am licensed in Florida but unable to endorse anywhere outside of Florida.

Since you have not been issued a license # by NY, their is no ability to endorse to FL. You may be able to apply for initial license in FL since educated there. Note that Ideal is listed with probationary status on FL BON Nursing Programs list. NY may not approve a license since school on probation. This is something AN members have warned potential students about: not all states accept nursing education from another state if it doesn't meet their education standards. Pearson Vue should be able to send your scores to FL BON for their consideration.
