NVCC Nursing May 2015

Published

Hi Everyone!

I really wanted to begin a thread about NVCC's traditional Nursing Program to begin in Fall 2015 (Applications are due May 21 2015). I would like that everybody share her/his experience applying to this program while waiting for the acceptance letters..... and good luck everyone.

PS: i am waiting for my application being processed notification email.

Did anybody receive this notification yet? please let me know :)

Thanks

thank you so much checkin Texas81,

then i still have hope :) please let me know if u hear anything..

So...I did not get the "acceptance" email. I went to the campus this morning and spoke with a counselor to determine why I was not competitive and what I could do to become more competitive. Bottom line...they spelled my name wrong in the email address for the college and the ACCEPTANCE email was never sent. In fact, the woman I spoke to in the MEC Counselor office stated "All qualified" applicants were accepted this semester. If you did not get the acceptance email, my suggestion is to visit the MEC Counselor office in person and speak to someone. The woman I spoke to was VERY nice and helpful. We should all be receiving an acceptance packet in the mail within the next day or two. Hope this helps.

I spoke to one of nursing faculties just now. He said they notified only traditional program yesterday. Now, they are processing LPN to RN. We will be notified in this week if not, definitely in next week no matter what status you have. feel better, enjoy ure weekend Texas81! :)

Thanks for checkin too girl!! Enjoy the rest of your week and good luck to u;))) try not to stress so much and il do the same hehe;))

TEXAS81. I emailed Valerie Brown to ask if every that applied got accepted. I have not gotten a reply but I will let you know if I do. And you should be fine dear. You got in. You're just freaking out

Novarn540:) thank u! I thought i was a good candidate. I got my associates and graduated with high honor. So all i need to do is my nursing classes. I applied for the lpn to rn program. This morning the mec counselor said they were doin lpn to rn after traditional track. Soooo well see;)

Congrats everyone!

You'll have to attend a MEC orientation, a Nursing orientation, and a library orientation. There may or may not be a textbook/resources orientation, not sure how they're handling that this year. Get ready to hit the ground running, you've got a lot to do this summer!

The math test isn't a huge deal. Pay attention to the directions and check your work. If you don't pass it, you'll have to take NUR135 first semester too. We take a math test every semester, no getting away from it!

Thanks for the info;) what does the math cove when we take it durin orientation ? Do u recall? Thanks for the help;)

I was able to obtain the study guide for the math test for 2014 before they removed it: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9YdR67FBjUcdFdhd0pkM29FVEU/view?usp=sharing

Here is also the "To-Do Checklist" for 2014: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9YdR67FBjUcUWFzaWFRaGVoWlU/view?usp=sharing

Lots of good information that you can use for reference. NOTE that these are documents for the 2014 year and updated ones will be coming our way soon!

The study guide is good. If you can do that, you'll be fine.
