NVCC / NOVA Traditional Nursing Fall 2019 - MEC

Hello , Everyone I'm a third semester student at Northern Virginia Community College and I know this is a bit early to be inquiring about nursing school but I just would like to get a head start on getting to know everyone interested in applying! I'm excited for the upcoming semester! i have some ice breakers to get this conversation started as well. Has anyone taken the TEAS test yet and if so how was your experience? and also do you have any remaining classes to take before applying.

Does anyone know how many eligible applications there were opposed to how many applications were actually submitted?

That's not a lot. and there's about 100 spots right?

I heard 150 is like the norm

Yeah I think it's 100-150 pending how many clinical spots they can secure.

I've been checking SIS to see if degree changed and also the new canvas system but nothing. Haha - just too anxious about it all.

NVCC posted that they receive between 78 and 420 applications. Imagine applying when there’s a low number! Would be ideal lol

That 78 is quite the ideal number lol. I had no idea about SIS changing status.

I thought Canvas was a platform for online students

Oh sorry! This is just me thinking that if they have processed the apps, they might change the degree assigned - I just came up with this idea myself trying to figure out, but I haven't ever heard of them doing that.

I think Canvas is replacing Blackboard - so I was just wondering if any thing would be in there yet.

mine's expired. does it have to be completed before the program starts?

No, however I really wanted it done but the representative I spoke at MEC said once I am accepted the information will be given. They have a specific company that does CPR training. Have you all done your medical?
