Hello , Everyone I'm a third semester student at Northern Virginia Community College and I know this is a bit early to be inquiring about nursing school but I just would like to get a head start on getting to know everyone interested in applying! I'm excited for the upcoming semester! i have some ice breakers to get this conversation started as well. Has anyone taken the TEAS test yet and if so how was your experience? and also do you have any remaining classes to take before applying.

When I spoke to an individual at the dept, he said they had about 153 apps already sent up to the depart. This was around the time I got my rejection email. When I went to the MEC counselors office 20 min later to discuss my situation, he said they had over 350 ish applications submitted, and still had 100 more left to go through at that time. So I hope they will have more than 150 slots. For the Spring cohort, it will be even more competitive because those rejected apps will basically roll over.I was told that new apps will be able to sign in and submit with updated TEAS results. I hope they hurry up and send out decisions so they can put up the new TEAS info.

They should have more or else it’s the same people applying from fall lol I wish I took microbiology so all I would have left is nursing classes

You took the co requisites too? You did anatomy and physiology 2 already?

I was already in AP2 when they changed the requirements because you use to have to take AP 1 & 2 before you applied

Do you think AP2 harder than AP1?

You definitely need to understand AP1 because my teacher spent little time reviewing the concepts because she expected us to know it, it was mostly physiology for me, but crash course on YouTube was my best friend lol

Thanks for the tip

For AP2 how many exams did you get. AP1 I did 6 exams. I did it online.

I have taken all my classes. However, My micro class is 10 yrs old this summer. So I need to retake micro. I registered for micro this fall with a Professor name that starts with a Z at the Woodbridge campus. I took AP 1 last semester and now in AP 2. I earned an A for part 1 and will be set to get another A this semester. My Professor's name is Hunell. She is the best! She also teaches at Mason. I highly suggest her for anyone needing A&P classes. For Chemistry I took Gavish and earned an A. Im done with all other core classes. I took the required CST class online and earned an A as well. I attribute all my success studying but most of all to reading reviews of potential professors on the rate my Professor website. I refuse to take another class without checking that site. So after micro this fall, I will only have to take nursing classes.

Yes AP 2 is much harder because you have to know how and why things work the way they do in the body. I used quizlet a lot!

Rate my professor is mandatory ! Lol I used to pick my classes by time not anymore lol I go by teachers

I didnt about rate my professor platform. I doing pre requisites online so it doesn't matter I guess. Thanks for the tips

Facts! It’s so worth digging through reviews on RMP.

I too, am done with all co-reqs. I was initially frustrated they took away 142 as a pre-req to apply but in hindsight I’m sooooo glad to be done

@ShereenS I personally thought Bio 141 was harder. Bones and Nervous System kicked my @$$ ?. YMMV of course
