Nvcc fall 2016

Published

Hi,

I just need some insight from all of you...I am planning to apply for nursing at NVCC for fall 2016. I have finished all my prerequisites and general requirement with the gpa of 3.7 but my teas score is on the lower side. I still have two chances to take it again but the student services have told me that since I passed I can't take it again. Is it true? If I were to take it again, will the nursing team take my highest score for consideration? Any help will be appreciated! 😊

I hope we all get in too. Hopefully they will send acceptance letters soon.

I hope so as well! Since they've said that they would be done processing applications by the end of this week, I'm hoping that we will get a decision by late next week or during the 2nd to last week of the month. Hoping this waiting period doesn't get dragged out for too much longer.

Wow.. 400 is a lot - I know in the past they have accepted 100+ for the traditional program. Fingers crossed for everyone - that news made me a little more nervous.

I know that news made me nervous as well. 400 is a lot, I don't think I have ever heard of a program with that many applicants. Lets pray that all goes well.

But 400 combine with Traditional and LPN. We don't know how much for Traditional tho... But I am nervous but lets have faith and hope that all of us get in ! :)

I had heard the last few years everyone who applied and met the qualifications was accepted, but I am not sure how many applications were received those years. Really hoping to hear something soon, I still have not gotten an email that my application was received yet.

In the past yes - everyone who was qualified was accepted. However, since they lowered the teas score many more people are applying.

This is the first year since they've lowered the minimum TEAS passing score, correct? Your reasoning makes a lot of sense as to why there were so many applicants this year if that is the case.

I can see why there are alot of applicants. But I heard they care more about the grades of the pre req. That's why I am not worrying about my TEAS score. They were very low but my pre req were majority A and two Bs. So we will see. Most likely we get approval letter in two weeks. But its long time!

I asked the person who runs the MEC Facebook page when we would be hearing back from the nursing department regarding acceptances and they have said that we will begin to hear back from them no earlier than next Friday, therefore the wait is almost over. Fingers crossed for everyone.

I'm also hoping they will release the decision of how many applicants will be accepted into this Fall's program very soon.

I am still waiting to hear from NOVA that my application was received. Is anyone else still waiting? My husband mailed the application for me, and did not realize certified mail met he had to keep the tracking number, so I am not even sure if my application had been signed for from someone at NOVA.
