Hi,
I just need some insight from all of you...I am planning to apply for nursing at NVCC for fall 2016. I have finished all my prerequisites and general requirement with the gpa of 3.7 but my teas score is on the lower side. I still have two chances to take it again but the student services have told me that since I passed I can't take it again. Is it true? If I were to take it again, will the nursing team take my highest score for consideration? Any help will be appreciated! 😊
That's what I'm saying?! Why lower the TEAS scores, and only take a hand full of students? I also find it a little unfair that they use Facebook as a way to tell people they weren't accepted. They blew it up like "emails were sent" so obviously those of us who didn't get an email can figure it out. This whole process has been so unorganized.
Yeah the % was a huge curveball. It just doesn't seem like a lot of people I've seen between here and facebook say they didn't get an email, which is really odd.
I was just as surprised to see so many people commenting to ask if that was all the acceptance emails that would be sent out, because they obviously had not received one either. It seems like a majority of the people on fb and on here did not get in. It's absolutely absurd and unfair.
Sucks for those of us who didn't have a plan B :-( I thought I had a pretty good chance and them changing the % of people getting into the program caught everyone off guard...
They always tell you that "putting all of your eggs into one basket" is not a good idea... And that's exactly what I did as well. I was so confident that I would get into nova's program, that I didn't even bother to think of a backup plan just in case. Which is what makes it even more discouraging.
I don't know if I trust anyone who controls that facebook page. My friend called and spoke with someone in the nursing department to figure out what was going on, and the woman told her that they have no control on what gets put on that page. The class just seems really small, so many people, even people who applied for the LPN to RN, didn't get an email today.

24% is just absolutely ridiculous. It gave no one a fair chance.
Time to start thinking of plan B... [emoji53]
