NVC -CP- GC Tracker

Published

I am starting a new thread to track cases from NVC - embassy to GC.

The best news for RN in China, Phillippines and India has been great and informative thread, but I think it is more appropriate and convenient if we start a new thread.

Also with the rapid scheduling of interviews for most of us, I am looking beyond the CP and anticipating the GC!

The August interview schedules are out already in India, and recently in the Philippines and hopefully in China.

Here is my case details

Category : EX Schedule A

USCIS receipt : April 2004

Processing Center : Vermont

I-140 approved : October 2004

NVC case number : MNL2004813XXX

NVC forwarded packet 3 : April 5, 2005

Packet 3 sent back to NVC : May 3, 2005

NVC case completed : May 16, 2005

good luck to you all!

To those who have finally done their consular interviews. I have some concerns regarding questions in the DS-230 (Part 1- Biographic Data) As petitioner.

First Q- in #11- am I going to write “ same as mine” or write the actual name of the person mentioned in # 10.

Second Q-in #12 (your present occupation) my son as one of my dependents & also going with me. As a student, am I going to write “student”? or just N/A?

Third Q-in #19 (Address( if different from your own) since I have 6 children, do I have to write “same as mine”? or just write our actual address to all of them.

Fourth Q-in # 22 (what occupation do u intend to work in the U.S? this is for my wife as dependent, am I going to place N/A?

Fifth Q- Is it necessary to memorize all what has been written in my ds230? There were some feedbacks that during the interview, interviewer will ask to fill out again another sheet of ds230 (part 1 & 2)? So we have to memorize all what has been written?

Sixth Q- if we answer the word N/A, am I going to place N/A with a close quotation like this “N/A”? .

7th Q- in all our documents aside from putting our assigned case # MNL2006XXXXXX, do i need to place also this word "SCHEDULE A"? thanks!

Hi there. I personally called NVC a couple of times regarding the DS-230. They were gracious enough to answer all my questions and they were very, very helpful and encouraging.

Anyway, I'll answer the ones I know.

#11 - It would be better to write the name/address/tel. no. again.

#22 - Do NOT write N/A on this question. Your wife needs to write an occupation. Writing N/A would make her appear like she would be a liability to you and the State.

No need to write "Schedule A." The NVC case number will do.

No need to memorize. You can bring a photocopy of your DS-230 that you submitted and copy it.

No need to enclose N/A in quotation marks.

Hope this helps. :)

hi pen,

i really appreciate so much of your efforts by giving me your inputs in view of my questions in some items there in ds-230. i have been browsing the internet to find some sort of samples on what to answer in those questions but i have it in a selective few items only. thank you, pen.

Interview: ? ?

Trying not to have waiting jitters and being busy with regular stuff. The more you're conscious about it, the longer it seems. If you just make the most of your time doing productive things, sooner or later everything's done and won't really feel the 'agony of waiting'.

Patience is a real valuable virtue in our case. We've gone this far, and a few more weeks or months aint that bad really. Goodluck to all of us.

well i checked my copy and i did not put anything..maybe its understood that our dependents will still adjust to the situation when we got there and their occupation would be determined after adjustment period...

mine was registered nurse...

this issue gave me an idea on how to answer back if asked by the consul to proove that my hubby would not be a liability to the state...

my hubby plans to study as cna..hopefully he'll love that job...;)

thanks penpaper and king of heart for bringing this up..
