I am starting a new thread to track cases from NVC - embassy to GC.
The best news for RN in China, Phillippines and India has been great and informative thread, but I think it is more appropriate and convenient if we start a new thread.
Also with the rapid scheduling of interviews for most of us, I am looking beyond the CP and anticipating the GC!
The August interview schedules are out already in India, and recently in the Philippines and hopefully in China.
Here is my case details

PD FEB 06
PD dates have been retrogressed to 2005. Do not hope for anything soon.
Unfortunately a lot of bad things have happened with our economy in the past two weeks or so, so expect facilities to actually start to cancel contracts as well.
Things are not how they were at the beginning of the month, that is for sure.
Best of luck to those of you that are waiting, but please do not expect things to turn around all of a sudden; that is just not going to happen.
Allez,
Congratulations for having your interview sked. If you would not mind, I would like to advise that you re-sked your medicals 2 to 3 weeks before your interview. This is to give you extra time if ever unexpected problems will come up on your medicals and you will have ample time to resolve them before the day of your embassy interview. You are almost here. Good luck!!!
To all those waiting,
If your PD is prior to Jan 1 2005 and already documentarily qualified, expect your embassy interview dates within the next 2 months and if your PD is a couple or so months beyond Jan 1 2005, you are not far behind. The fiscal year has just started and new visa allocations are in effect. It is possible for the PD to remain in Jan 1 2005 in the coming months and more probable for it to advance by a some more months but it is nearly impossible for it to retrogress from the current PD as of this time. Just hang on.
Actually not completely true. That is why things retrogressed to 2005 from 2006 in June. It is not just having a PD date that is current, but also a file that is up to date and current. Those that had earlier dates and still not in the US meant that there were issues or that their file was not complete when the last visas were available even last summer in May and June when an additional 60,000 or so were recapped and used.
October 1 is the new fiscal year, the bulletin came out in mid September which it did; if you notice that it moved backwards instead of forward to get thos earlier in line waiting a visa first. Do not expect things to change to fast forward anytime soon as well.
The only way that things will move forward is if many employers actually back out of contracts, and we are expecting to see this happen as well since many areas are having hiring freezes and lay-offs. If a hiring freeze is in place for a facility, then they cannot bring a foreign nurse over and have them begin work. Your hiring date is when you are in the US and ready to begin work, not when you had the job offer made to you. If they are unable to start Americans, then they are not going to be able to start a foreign nurse either. And if no work is available for you when it comes time for the interview, then everything will get cancelled out.
Remember that an updated job offer needs to be submitted by the employer prior to the interview and they need to verify that they will have work for you at that time.

Right on!:wink2: I'm very optimistic PDs will move forward in the coming VBs. Hang in there guys! Keep on praying.
One can clearly see on the previous VBs published by the US State Department that the PD of the beginning month(October) of the fiscal year do not retrogress within the first half of that fiscal year. The PD either stays the same or advance a bit or jumps forward radically. But sadly after that, its anyone's guess.
So I repeat to those who are already DOC QUALIFIED(whose files are already completed and reviewed by NVC) and PDs prior to Jan 1 2005, it is just a matter of time before you have your date with the embassy.
June was 2006, now it is at 2005. So that proves that it did go backwards. It is never impossible for it to retrogress backwards. New visas come out with the new fiscal year and that is October 1, and so you would have seen movement with the October Bulletin that came out last week and instead it went backwards; not forwards as many of you were expecting. When people with earlier dates finally get their files complete, then the day moves further back to include any of the others. You also need to be aware that with the significant increase in the number of visa applications in the past two years, you are not going to see things moving forward by that much; perhaps not at all for quite sometime.
And what you may not be paying attention to is the state of the US economy over the past several weeks. Things have gone from bad to horrible. You are going to see hospitals that are going to be cancelling out contracts. If they have a hiring freeze in place now and/or lay-offs, they cannot very well bring over a nurse from overseas. Hiring date is considered the day that you start working there, not when you signed the contract with them.
Things are going to be getting much worse here.
It is not a point of dashing anyone's dreams, but the fact is that jobs need to go first to Americans before they can go to a foreigner. And an employer must prove again just before the interview that they are going to have a job for the nurse and that it was not able to be filled by an American.
If they cannot do this, then everything gets cancelled out and you start over again from the beginning. So please, be very careful for what you wish for at this time. And with things that way that they are, it is going to be very hard coming from out of the country and trying to purchase a house or even a car at this time. Everything is very tight right now, and without significant credit history in your country and substantial funds behind you, it is going to be much harder to do anything here as well. These are things that I am sure many have not thought of but it is factual to what is going on right now here.
Yes the June PD did go backward from 2006 to 2005 and it happened on the 2nd half of that fiscal year as I also mentioned would be possible on my second post(speaking of which I am wondering why I don't see here). The only fact I am trying to point out is that based on the VB from 2004 to 2007 published by the State Dept, the PDs beginning on October have never retrogress or have gone back during the 1st half of that fiscal year. During the 1st half, PDs do stay the same or advance a little or advance radically. On the 2nd half, retrogression from the PD of the Oct VB of that fiscal year is a sure thing.
Last 2006, it was a 5+ year wait but now it is only a 3+ year wait.
Regarding the economy and the cancellation of contract, I don't have anything to say about that since it would not affect the issuance of interview schedule. This would come only into play during the issuance of the visas but until the hospital has not cancelled the contract, the ball is still in play.
Hello, despite the fact that PDs had retrogressed to Jan 2005 coupled with the US economic turmoil/crisis at present, I would still encourage everyone waiting to keep up the faith and be more prayerful.
Yes I sincerely agree to the fact that lots of hospitals in US are also facing financial difficulties, lay-offs are there and cancelling of job offers/contracts are highly possible. With this, one must not get disappointed immedietly. I guess Suzzane actually raised a point of view out of the GENERAL economic condition of USA at the moment. So I suggest you people to contact your immigration lawyers/petitioners/hospital employers and ask your real score or status. Though in general US is facing crisis, it is still up to the hospital's resources as to wether or not thay can still bring you there and be part of their health care team.
I contacted my employer in US and had talked to the Human Resource Director of the Health System that I'll be working with. I addressed to her my worries of them cancelling out contracts. She admitted that indeed they are facing a crisis but had also assured to the fullest that my petition will push through till the end, they already had paid everything including the filing of premium processing, so they have gone that far with the immigation expenses, they wont give up applicants that easy as what she had verbalized.
So nurses out there, try to contact directly to your petitioners and know the present status of their hospital. You have all the rights to ask since you cant be waiting for nothing at all.
Godbless
