i see all these posts of people with above 3.8 GPA and above 90 Teas scores.....why do you want to do nursing? why not get into engineering, math or medicine? you are obviously smart and yet you want to to boast here while taking a course that is obviously too easy for you? i dont get it.. is nursing your passion or you just need a job? thats why we are short on engineers, doctors etc

The last couple of posts I've read for the past few days have made me wonder if people just post things like this to be internet trolls and start mess...

I've never worked a day of nursing in my life but I know it's a horrible profession and I want to find something better to do with my social life.... People that make good grades in college and on their TEAS just want to brag about how smart they are not because they just love what they do.

What is wrong people?:(

Nursing is not worse that retail employee, warehouse worker, waiter, 70 hours a week deskjobs, exploited CPAs, overworked engineers, etc.

You say nursing is a horrible profession, but have you worked as a nurse, or have you worked somewhere else to have comparison point?

You say you want to have a social life, but you do know that most nurses work 3 days a week, so if you cant find a social life in 4 days off then you got some bigger issues.

People got good grades and great TEAS scores because compared to degrees in "basket waiving" the space in nursing programs are limited and highly coveted.

Jesus, reread my post. I was talking about the things that have been posted in the forums the last few days. I wasn't talking about myself. https://allnurses.com/general-nursing-student/help-i-regret-973684.html

My bad, it didn't look like you were quoting something else.

Specializes in Prior military RN/current ICU RN..

It is a troll. There have been a few on here lately.

Specializes in LAD.

....uh why are you even on this site? That's what I want to know.

No worries, I should've put that I was summarizing these two fools.

Specializes in IMCU, Oncology.

I know this is probably a troll, but I just want to say I have just started my 2nd semester of nursing school. The people who provide the majority of care to patients are the nurses. Doctor's are in and out, from what I have seen so far, in 10 minutes or less. I don't know, would you want a dumb nurse caring for mother, father, or other loved ones? I wouldn't...nursing is challenging because you do need people with intelligence and critical thinking skills to care for people without killing them!

I read the threat you linked. Wow that was a bad one, but i am not surprised, i have seen a couple lately.

You are right, and I am inspired. Nuclear engineering is my true passion; now I have the vision to pursue it. Thank you.

Because some people find it entertaining to anonymously post inflammatory content on the internet and then sitting back and enjoying the reaction.

It's sort of the equivalent of a little kid poking a bear with a stick through the bars of its cage and then giggling when the bear gets riled up.

I have no desire to be paged 50 million times a day. Especially at 3am.

3 twelve hours shifts a week gives for 4 days off a week.

I like to think of myself as an intelligent RN and I know for sure I have escalated patients to higher level of care BEFORE they decompensated because I CAUGHT trends. I'm proud of that.
