I am in my first semester of nursing school and am interviewing for a Critical Care Assistant position in the TSICU/CVICU.
I am an EMT but have only done my basic health assesement skills checkoff. I am curious what I should expect in this kind of position?

You'll be a nursing aide with patient care activities, VS, mobility, go-fer, stocking, and more. You will NOT be doing much in the way of basic health assessment because that's reserved to licensed personnel; you cannot work in this capacity using EMT skills beyond those of the job you're in.
If this doesn't sound exciting enough for you, old EMT that you are, remember that you will have the opportunity to get ahead on patient handling (different from EMS), work flow in a hospital, pick the brains of the ICU nurses, and learn a lot about what you don't know yet so you return to school with new purpose. Go for it.
