hello everybody,
i just started nursing school in san diego and i am very excited with this career opportunity. i am a full time student and i also work 60 hours a week in a nursing and rehabilitation facility. the lack of sleep is killing me, but after all it's worth it. i realized most of the tests are multiple choices; can anyone give me good tips in excelling in multiple choice tests? i would really appreciate anyone's help. other than that, life's tough and i'm working hard to be a skilled nurse since my goal is to work in the surgery room. i admire medicine and its amazing healing power. i love to see people heal and progress after getting medical attention. i think as nurses we should be proud of our profession because we cause major impacts on people's lives.
everyone be happy and keep smiling everyday,
fatima

60 hrs a week? You might want to cut back if you can, because it will get stressful. As far as taking MC tests go, I recommend getting your hands on some NCLEX practice books (Saunders, Lippincott, etc), because many of the questions require critical thinking, and you can be a good test taker, but if you don't know your material you won't do quite as well (as I learned from experience) Study Study Study.

Wow! Working 60 hrs/week and going to nursing school? I'd have went crazy after 1 week of that. As far as the multiple choice tests, the Saunders NCLEX review book and cd are what has helped me the most. It helped me pass the midcirricular HESI and many other tests along the way. Good Luck.
