  1. I took all 265 and passed.
  2. Got my quick results yesterday and I passed! Thank you Jesus!!! I'm an RN!!!!
  3. I graduated in December of 2009 and took the NCLEX for the first time in February and failed after 5 1/2 hrs with all 265 questions. I tried the PVT and it went to the CC screen and I was heartbroken. After months of beating myself up and regretting not being better prepared I gave it another shot today. I got about 30 minutes of sleep last night and haven't ate in 2 days while trying to cram and desperately prepare myself for this attempt. I know that's not the best way to get ready, but I couldn't sleep and I've been studying for a couple of months now answering anywhere from 200-800 questions a week on my Hogan CD and my Saunders CD. If not having any sleep wasn't bad enough, I had a 90 min ride to the Pearson testing center today and the air conditioner in my car quit working as I was leaving home, so I had to explain to the testing monitors there why I was sweaty and wet. Anyway to get to the point, I took it again today and once again had all 265 questions and it took 5 hrs and 50 mins. My contacts were fogging up and my mouth was dry but I never got up once for a break. I stuck with it the entire time. Got home and seen the delivery was successful so tried the PVT and got the "Good Pop-up." Hopefully it won't let me down. It took a lot of studying and a lot of prayers. Thank You Jesus!!! Still praying and holding out hope that I did indeed pass, but if the PVT holds true, then I'm an RN!!!
  4. 29 with 1 semester to go in the ADN program. We had 9 guys to start out 1st semester, but only myself and 1 other is left. We had 50 students (male/female) to start the program and out of the original 50, only 9 is left.
  5. I start my last semester of NS this fall at ABAC in Tifton, GA. I could not have asked for a better experience than what I've had so far. I'm in the traditional program, but I know students in the bridge program and they speak very highly of it. If I had it all to go over again, I would have got my LPN and then bridged through like many of them are. You only attend class one day per week and will have your RN in one year. If you have any questions about the program, this is the number directly to the Nursing Division at ABAC: 229-391-5020

  7. I'm going to use Rosetta Stone to try and learn. I've heard nothing but positive feedback on there language learning programs. http://www.rosettastone.com/
  8. I started my first cath this past Tuesday during OB clinicals. The patient was about to have an emergency c-section and my professor grabbed me to go insert it. Talk about being nervous. Being a male and doing this to a woman is bad enough, but she was in terrible pain and her husband was standing over my shoulder watching me go through the procedure. I hit the right hole first attempt but never got urine, so my professor grabbed another kit and I gave it another shot. Second time I struck gold and then helped rush her off to the OR where I got to witness the c-section.
  9. We take all of our nursing tests online so I use mainly just the comprehensive CD. It is a great studying tool. It has over 4200 questions from different subjects.
  10. No. If necessary, send message by a fellow student in your clinical group for your instructor to call you in the morning. Never put the patients at risk for any further infection.
  11. Memorization, knowing all your equivalents and formulas, and keep studying. Good Luck.
  12. https://allnurses.com/general-nursing-student/nursing-student-369114.html The original poster in this thread stated the they are working 60 hrs/week while attending nursing school.
  13. Wow! Working 60 hrs/week and going to nursing school? I'd have went crazy after 1 week of that. As far as the multiple choice tests, the Saunders NCLEX review book and cd are what has helped me the most. It helped me pass the midcirricular HESI and many other tests along the way. Good Luck.
  14. I don't wear gloves while doing VS unless the patient has MRSA or any other infectious disease.
  15. Don't know about the difficulty level, but I would think you have an advantage over other students. I'm in my third semester of nursing school now and have thought about pursuing that route as well after graduating. I've talked to many others about this and the consensus is that nurses make great doctors because they know the caring side as well as the medical side. Good luck on your endeavor.
