These days, the price of gas is high, car insurance premiums are high, car notes are high ... heck everything is high. And, our attempts to offset some of the expense of trying to get to a Clinical site in our Nursing programs are challenging. Car-pooling is a great way to try and save a few bucks. Do you car pool and if so, just how far do you have to travel to your Clinical site?

No carpool but my door to floor time is 7 minutes.

I carpooled in LVN school on clinical days. We had a 3 person rotation of drivers, so no gas money had to be exchanged. Our clinical sites were quite far away-45 mins to 2 hrs! Carpooling was a necessity!

Right now, in RN school, we carpool as well because the clinical sites can not accept 10 cars. The travel time to clinical a from my school is 20-30 mins from our school.

Yes. I carpool. Clinical sites vary average about 30 minutes away. Not only a great way to save money, but a great way to relieve stress. Some great laughs to and from clinical sites. Or a great way to decompress and complain to others that understand the stresses of nursing school.

Yes!! Because we had a 3 person rotation, I had 2 days each week where I could simply relax or nap on the way home from clinicals when the other students drove. That was helpful! I miss that!
