Hey there!
I'm applying to ABSN programs in the NYC area. I have most prereqs done, but I still need to finish A&P II. I'm looking to start either January, May, or September 2017 depending on the program..
Here's the issue:
I find it really hard to get in contact from anyone at most nursing schools! I'll fill out their contact info and maybe 1 out of 3 schools will reply.
Then, there's Dominican College which is my #1 choice due to length of the program, location, and philosophy, and they have not responded to one email I have sent! (It's been a month and a half, I have sent the same email 3 times)
Is anyone else encountering this?? lol

Have you tried making a phone call? if your emails aren't going through for some reason waiting to hear back is wasting time. Call them.

Yes, definitely give them a call. Who knows, maybe there's technical issue on their end or your email address is triggering a spam filter and they're not seeing them. Regardless, it will show drive and determination to call them, or to even go and show up at the school. Explain the situation and ask for the admissions office or to see an advisor. You can always call or walk in anywhere even when job hunting. Good luck!

Try calling them. Also be aware that many, many schools have reduced staff over the summer months. Could also be your not getting a response because the one person who monitors that e-mail account has been out on vacation or maternity or family leave.
Also I've heard of a few schools who are very competitive with high numbers of applicants not providing any information beyond website or admissions packets simply because there are far too many prospective applicants and they can't deal with the volume. You actually have to know enough to have a specific name or position you are trying to reach in order to get through to anyone. They may have specific information sessions or online web-chats as the forum for asking questions.

I would definitely walk in; by doing so you may learn some of the names of those in charge of admission and learn about pertinent dates. In the future if you call and get a phone tree, you may recognize someone you met by going up there. Familiarity is a bonus.
You all are spot on with the "call them" idea, but if it were that easy I definitely would have done it haha
I live in China and while I did call them over skype, there was no way they could call me back so I wasn't able to get any answers (all calls went to voicemail).
That also takes away the "visit them" concept.
I just wish they would respond to emails faster, you know? It really is the easiest method of communication. Also, I do have 3 different individuals emails and only one of them ever responded.
I live in China
I would have lead with that part

My school's Allied Health Dept has a filter that will not allow any outside email addresses to go thru (only a school email address), so it may be that they are simply not getting those emails. If you can't call or walk-in, then you may have to wait until you are stateside before you can make contact. :/
Honestly I wasn't looking for a solution to the problem of getting in contact with them, just looking to see if others have experienced this problem as frequently as I have. But thanks for the input.
Yes, it's extremely common for schools to have email filters so that they can only receive emails from .edu addresses.

I guarantee your issue is that your email is probably going into their junk mail or spam filter somehow.
