Nursing School Must Haves??

Published

I am potentially starting Nursing school Fall2010 (God willing) and was wondering what are essentials that you all have that you would reccomend to others?? Things for organization, or whatever...Thanks!! :)

I had a BB storm. I traded it in for the new Android and I LOVE it! it's an extra 30 a month for unlimited net through Verizon whether you have the BB or Droid. I always have an Ipod touch but you can only get net where there is free wifi

I use an ipod touch for the PDA. It's nice have the larger touch screen compared to a phone with a smaller screen. I've tried using nursing central on both a blackberry and an ipod touch and I preferred the ipod touch 100 times over the blackberry. HTH!

I to have the itouch with epocrates (I downloaded the demo with the extra stuff) and will get Nursing Central as soon as the summer starts. I love the pill id on epocrates and that is free after the demo ends. I don't have to worry about changing carriers (I :redbeathe my Verizon), and I prefer my little clamshell phone anyway. My dad has epocrates and compared it with his Verizon smartphone and mine was definitely easier to see and use . I have never used a blackberry, nor do any of my friends have it, so I don't know how that would compare.

I liked my Ipod touch better then my BB storm but I love my Droid better then them all!

I am in love with this thread & know my compulsion to have everything perfect will drive me to get absolutely everything in it :lol2:, or pretty darn close, as I'll be shopping for all supplies soon.

Really. Really awesome tips!

I put boyfriend on MY list for sanity, but sometimes those just distract us. ;) :lol2:

Thankfully, my love is 100% supportive & aware of the time & dedication I need to put in. He's all for it, but he's all for everything. lol.

I mention this bc close one's who won't deter you from your studies & goals are a must, imo. ;)

Agreed. My girlfriend is my biggest cheerleader and biggest foot to kick me in the butt when I need it. The roles get to switch this next semester when Im finishing up school and she is just starting NS.

Its nice to have a few friends that can distract you from everything as well. It is good to just remove yourself from school and the grind for awhile.

hello everyone,

i am new to this site and i just wanted to say hi. i will be attending the nancy j.knight school of nursing at ohio hi-point starting july 6th. i am very excited and i know that i will need to buckle down and focus on my studies. i am also looking forward to chatting back and forth with experienced nurses/students like yourselves. so thank you in advance for all the help and advice.:)

It's a combo between good nursing friends to make you laugh till you cry after you failed a test, my amazing supportive boyfriend who takes care of me financially so I can pursue my dreams and a dog who will always cuddle up with me when I need some time on my own.

Also, having my own separate study room has proved very helpful, hopefully it'll stay as my room even when the bf starts school in fall.

And an overly organized personality never hurts either ;)
