what is the typical schedule like? do you all go mon thru fri 8 to 3 pm? do you have to do clinicals several times a week while you take courses? can you really work a fulltime job and go to nursing school and still get about 5 hours of sleep a nite?

my clinicals and theory class was morning and i worked pm 3-11 shift as CNA before passing nclex. still have ample time to sleep 6 hrs. not to brag but during nursing school i didnt study and i pass with a 75% on finals/exams/mid terms.

after nursing school i studied 1 chapter a day and write down stuff.

You had to get 80% or above to pass. Anything below 80%, (Including 79.4%) was an F.

I'm in nursing school and i find it fairly easy so far. First semester. Heres my schedule.

Monday:

Fundamentals of Nursing 8am-10am, Small lecture 11am-1150am.

Monday 2pm-250pm: some dumb class about the history of nursing or some crap like that I DONT EVEN KNOW because I have an A, and I dont even go to that class LOL.

Tuesday:

3pm-810pm- Hospital- Med-surge.

Wednesday:

3pm-810pm- Hospital- Med-surge.

Thursday: No classes or clinicals.

Friday:

1pm-350pm- basic health assessment.

.....................I love it. I don't find it hard at all. I'm flying through.

Specializes in acute care med/surg, LTC, orthopedics.

If you're finding it easy, I'd consider that a big red flag. I doubt you'll be bragging about it when you're not prepared enough to pass your licensing exam.

Or maybe I love the medical field and my mom is a nurse, so I can ask her questions if i have problems understanding things.:D!

Also my school has maintained a 98-99% NCLEX pass rate.

careful... your mom won't be there to answer for you when half of your final is about the history of nursing.

first semester was super easy for me as well, but i didn't let it go to my head. i knew that second semester was a whole new ball game, and was happy that i attended every lecture and developed excellent study habits in the first semester. it is the sole reason i am one of the few students passing second semester right now (yep... those failing are the ones who found it to easy to bother with, and are now struggling to figure out a good study method/schedule).

just because someone says that it is easy, doesn't mean that you have to get all fired up about it. Tests might come easy to her(or she has figured out how to take the tests). I am the same way, however, the paperwork gets to me, I am having some difficulty with it all. I am still passing, but all the other semesters I did fine on all the "busy work" but this semester it is killing me. Of course being in 3rd semester of an ADN program is probably the reason. I know of people that have full time jobs and are doing ok, but the stress of it is starting to get to them. Their grades aren't quite where they were last semester, almost dropped an entire grade point. You can do it, and it is very manageable. Good luck!

Don't worry, the tears go away after awhile.:scrying:

I have no exams for that class. We only have writing assignments and I've done almost all of them. I meant understanding the real thing. Help with methods of doing things. I dont use her for everything because I obviously have to learn everything myself. I'm sure second semester will be harder. Right now its easy as hell though.

Thank you.I'm a male btw lol. I don't see why people get all worked up because I find it easy so far. my friends and I are doing great. Like I said, second semester will probably be a different story. I wasn't trying to sound like im bragging because its easy. I'm just being honest. First semester is a breeze.
