Nursing School Interview Help

Published

Hey everyone!

I am currently finishing my pre-requisites and will be applying to nursing school soon! My top choice school requires an interview for applicants and I am extremely nervous!! Have any of you interviewed for nursing school and can tell me about the experience? What kind of questions should I expect?

Come on I know that at least SOMEONE on here has had to interview for a nursing program.

I didn't have an interview, but I would imagine some of the questions would include "Why do you want to be a nurse?" and "What sets you apart from other candidates?"

Thanks!! :) I'm guessing interviews aren't common for nursing school but I just want to be prepared for the one I have in March!

If you search on Google, you can probably find common questions nursing schools ask. Good luck!

My nursing interview was fairly simple. She asked questions like: "Why do you want to be a nurse?" "Why do you want to go to this program?" "tell me about the things you have been doing since you graduated from high school?" etc. She also looked at my college grades and asked me about a class I failed and why I took it since it wasn't required. That was about it. I had a quick interview and I was accepted 2 weeks later. I heard that at my school an interview is more of a formality and that they usually accept most of the people who get interviewed anyway.

That doesn't sound too bad! :) Apparently at the school I'm applying for they interview a lot more people than they accept so I'm pretty nervous! Was your interview a group interview? If I get invited to interview it will be group style which adds to my nerves!
