2015 Nursing School Applicants (all)

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I think I remembered seeing a similar thread for 2014 and thought it would be fun to meet up with others who are at the same point in their journey to make some friends!

What classes/entrance exams do you have left?

I'm currently halfway through Winter quarter taking A&P II and Sociology, for Spring quarter my last class will be Microbiology. I also need to take the TEAS test in the Spring as well.

When will you begin submitting applications?

I'll start submitting my applications as soon as I have registered and paid in full for my Microbiology class (within the next few weeks).

How many programs will you be applying to?

3! I have other options I can try if those don't work out.

Have you already been accepted into a program?

Nope! I do think I have a very good shot at a couple of the schools I am applying to though!

Good luck to everyone applying for 2015 programs!!!

Hello, I have applied to Charity School of Nursing in New Orleans, La., well I applied on Jan 30,2015 and is still waiting for my letter, have anyone else applied to the LPN to RN Bridge Program this Summer 2015. If so, please write back if you have any information.

What classes/entrance exams do you have left?

I'm currently taking Microbiology and finish up with that on tuesday (it was an accelerated class).

When will you begin submitting applications?

I've already submitted applications to my programs.

How many programs will you be applying to?

I applied to two, an ADN and a BSN.

Have you already been accepted into a program?

I was accepted into the ADN program for Spring 2016 and I find out from the BSN program in a couple of weeks. So nervous!

I received an acceptance letter to Lakes Region Community today. I will start this fall. Such a weight lifted. I wasn't even expecting their letters to go out for at least another week. Good luck to everyone still waiting.

Hi everyone! :D

What classes/entrance exams do you have left?

I graduated with my AA Degree at my local college so I am finished with classes! If I continue to go to that college then I will need to take the HESI and a Prevention of Medical Errors online class. I've taken the TEAS exam.

When will you begin submitting applications?

I submitted my applications towards the end of my last semester (December 2014) and everything is finally verified as of last week.

How many programs will you be applying to?

So far, 2. I may or may not apply to the college I went to for my AA. I applied to Florida Atlantic University and Nova Southeastern University and I might consider Broward College. The 2 programs I applied to are for my BSN (Pre-licensure)

Have you already been accepted into a program?

Sadly, not yet. People have gotten interview invites already for one school and someone just got accepted recently! I'm so happy for them and I hope I'm able to get the same chance for an interview. I've been super anxious ever since I heard that one of the schools started calling people back.

Best of luck to everyone!

grats WanderingWilder!!!!! How exciting! I am so jealous of all of you who already know about fall! July needs to hurry up and get here so I can find out too!

What classes/entrance exams do you have left?

I have two credits to finish in my BA - graduating in good standing is a condition of one of my acceptances. I'm also taking a grade 12 chemistry exam next week, which I have to finish for all the programs I applied to. It's weird to be doing a high school course when you're at the end of a university degree. No entrance exams, though (phewph)

When will you begin submitting applications?

All done. The deadline for my programs was February 1st, but I got all my stuff in by mid-January. One of the schools lost my transcript, though, so I had to re-send those and I'm waiting for acknowledgement.

How many programs will you be applying to?

I've applied to four programs. 3 of them are 4-year programs, and 1 is a 2.5-year accelerated program.

Have you already been accepted into a program?

I got accepted at all 3 4-year programs so far! Two acceptances came in the first week of February and one came last week. I'm still waiting to hear back from the accelerated program, but it's good to know that I'm starting in September no matter what.

I'm very grateful to be in Canada, because it seems from these posts like US schools let you know a lot later.

Good luck to everyone!

What classes/entrance exams do you have left?

I've finished all of my prereqs as of fall 2014. The program I applied to doesn't start until this fall so I start the long wait until classes finally start. I loved my prereq classes especially Human A&P, the science classes really solidified my choice to become a nurse and a lifetime learner.

When will you begin submitting applications?

I've already submitted my application to my #1 choice. I submitted it in the beginning of February and have a long wait until the beginning of May. If I don't get in then I will start looking at other programs since there are plenty in my area with rolling enrollment.

How many programs will you be applying to?

I am only applying for 1 right now. If I don't get in I am applying to 2 more schools in the area that have less competitive admission criteria than my #1 choice. They are still great programs with great reputations.

Have you already been accepted into a program?

Not yet. Like I said previously I have a long wait until the beginning of May. I'm hoping it will come sooner but in past years it has taken that long to get a letter.

What classes/exams do you have left?

~I am taking a semester-full right now to finish up all pre-reqs: A&PII, Microbiology, Intro to Computers, Sociology. I have already taken the TEAS.

When will you begin submitting applications?

~I will apply at the end of March.

How many programs will you be applying to?

~ Just 1. The ASN at the community college I'm currently attending.

Have you already been accepted into a program?

~ Interview invites go out in late May or early June.

What classes/entrance exams do you have left?

A&P II and Organic Chemistry, that's it! I am planning on taking a 5k training course, as well as abnormal psychology.

When will you begin submitting applications?

Application opens in June!

How many programs will you be applying to?

I only have to submit one application for the 4 main campuses in the state. The main campus decides where you go based on GPA only.

Have you already been accepted into a program?

No, but I am very confident I will get the placement I want :)

What classes/entrance exams do you have left?

I am done...WooHoo! But here in Cali (at least where I live) you have to be totally done to apply.

When will you begin submitting applications?

Applications opened in January and February and close in March or April. I've finished applying...the waiting begins!

How many programs will you be applying to?

4 programs and technically there could be a 5th. We have an accelerated program in our area that will pull names from the pool of applicants to other schools but they son't always have the program so it is very arbitrary.

Have you already been accepted into a program?

No...I wish. We are very impacted in this area and some people wait 5+ years to get accepted! Wish me luck...I really need this. :)

What classes/entrance exams do you have left?

I have Micro left but really do not need it to apply to the two schools I'm looking at. I am retaking my Teas in April.

When will you begin submitting applications?

One is due May 12 and the other one is due June 1.

How many programs will you be applying to?

I have my most favorite choice and a back up. I'm limited because I work during the day, and there are only two night/weekend RN programs where I live.

Have you already been accepted into a program?

Not yet, but I know I will be....Can't wait!
