I am wondering if any other nursing students have pets that have helped them get through nursing school I have a cat named "Pinky" who is ten years old, we adopted her a year ago. Pinky likes to sit on my lap and sleep nearby when I do my homework. Whenever I need a break she is there wanting to be petted and given attention. I love her dearly. Sometimes when I'm doing my homework I see Pinky playing with her toy mice by herself and I feel bad when I don't have enough time to spend with her. Also, on long days when I am away from home Pinky always runs to the door when I get back because she's lonely. I've thought about getting her a playmate but was told she doesn't get along with other cats. She is my baby and an only child I guess :redbeathe
My dog snuggles my feet while I study. When I first got my steth, she let me listen to her heart sounds....ha ha ha, just came into the room and put her head on my knees! She is great for a study break of fetch and when we are at the dog park she understands that I need to listen to lectures on my headphones. As long as I keep throwing that ball.

Haha, that's like me! Red Bull, kitty, and laptop - that's all you need to survive nursing school. :)

I love my dog. He's my baby, well one of them. He is super smart, too. He knows how to work our sliding glass doors; he removes the stopper, unlocks it, and opens it and lets himself out and then jumps the fence. He has always returned within a 24 hour period. So to ease the stress our runaway dog causes our family, we are getting a dog run for him ($$$).
He competes with my kids for my attention; I think he thinks he's a human child. He ignores us just like our kids do, he talks (barks) back to us; seriously, he tells me he loves me.
Can't imagine life without him.
