I just signed up with the College Network and am excited about it! Has anyone on here gone through the College Network program? I have had people in the past make jokes about people getting their RN online, saying that it is not as good as going to an actual classroom. And just basically belittling it. Why? I heard someone compare it to getting your drivers license at K-Mart..lol Someone please re-assure me! LOL:uhoh3:

you do realize that the college network is a publishing company and not a degree granting college. you are doing it mostly online so you must be doing the indiana state university program. i personally think that doing a online /self based program requires a lot of self discipline and commitment. i am doing the excelsior program and refuse to talk to anyone about the program, because i am not going to explain my educational reasonings to anyone that don't have a clue in the first place. you just keep on going and keep your head up.

The College Network is not an LPN-to-RN program. The College Network is nothing more than an overpriced publishing company engaged in the business of selling materials that eventually lead to a nursing degree from either Excelsior College or ISU. Therefore, Excelsior College or ISU are one of the 2 schools you're really dealing with.

Most people are able to earn their LPN-to-RN bridge degree from Excelsior College or ISU without ever going through expensive publishing companies such as the College Network and RUE. In addition, people have attempted to get out of the College Network's contract, and all were unsuccessful. Buyer beware!

I'm assuming it is Excelsior that i am going through, because I know that Indiana is if your going for your BSN. I am going to remain positive even if I am paying more money than If I had gone another route. But I appreciate your input very much! I am going to come out of this in a year or so with my RN, even if it kills me..lol Thank you again!

Hi Sharon, I'm going through the same program as you. Our classes are kinda half and half. The nursing part is Excelsior and the pre-reqs are through the college network. I have already taken Life Span and Intro to Sociology and passed both. Getting ready to start World Religion. It's really not that hard you just need to focus. There are 2 websites I recommend. One is for flashcards you can do online. It is www.flashcardexchange.com and the other is for discussion about the tests and other topics. It is www.college-net.com/support. I just started all of this in August and I think that it is great.

i hope you realize that the pre-classes are not through the college network but they are probably cleps. the college network is nothing more than a publishing company . they have no ability to grant college credit of any kind.

Ok, everyone who is not at this point completely and totally aware that "The College Network is a publishing company" please raise your hand. Anyone? Anyone?

BTW, Niki...thanks for the flashcard site! That's awesome. :)

There is an online yahoo site for excelsior students. You can meet lots of other students. I am one. And others, some who are out in the workforce now as RNs.

Hi Shannon, I was just wondering how you were doing with College Network... I tried it and was really dissapointed. I was unable to get out of the contract because I signed my name to the fine print I didn't understand. I did not have the ambition to make myself sit down and do it on my own. I am still trying to sell my books on ebay. Is it working for you? I ended up starting a transition program at a local technical school and found that I have to have a teacher. Good Luck.
