Hi Y'all
I am starting the CNL program at UMB this fall. I was offered only loans:crying2:, so I would like to know if anyone knows of any specific companies or organizations I should aim to work for that will forgive my loans in exchange for work? I would love to work for the Federal government but not sure if they would be able to offer that incentive.

I don't know about loan forgiveness but I do know that in order to work for the federal government, you'll need to graduate from an NLN approved nursing school.

Take a look at the Veterans Administration. In recent years they have been very eager to hire CNLs (with the hopes to have a CNL on every unit nationwide). In recent years, they have offered up to $15K/year in loan forgiveness for CNL grads -- I do not know if this offer is still being extended in these times of budget cutbacks). There was a max of 3 years (45K total) in Stafford loan forgiveness.
You had me scared for a minute, but it turns out the NLN is for community college and BSN programs. My program is a masters level, therefore it has a different license called CCNE, which is the grad equivalent of NLN, but I did not realize there was other licenses beside state boards. Why must health careers have soooo many hoops to jump through?
