Got a job!!!!....kinda!

One week ago, I went into a local clinic to apply for a joB..I asked for an application and they said they only accept applications from online. I gave the receptionist my resume anyways to turn into her supervisor for me. One hour later, I got a call and was asked if I had time To do an instant phone interview, yay!!! I did well with the interview and was told They might be calling me later on for a second interview..this was on a Thursday. That Monday, I received a call for a face to face interview. I had the option of coming in either Tuesday (which was the next day) or Friday. I chose Friday so I had more time to prepare...a 5 min presentation had to be given at the interview after researching their Website. And I also had to bring in Six professional references w me at the interview? Anyways, I went in yesterday, the interview went extremely well and I was way confident at the end that I got the job.after giving them a 30 seconds commercial as to why they should hire me. Table was flipped so I could be the one asking questions. I asked him to give ME a 30 second commercial as to why Hhe WOULDN'T hire me, which caught him wayyyy off guard!!!! He said he couldn't think of any reason why not!!! Yay!!! So we get done with interview, I'm all smiley, feeling great then he said "I have to be transParent with you" ...o...."when the position was posted, we WERE looking for an LpN, but that position recently got filled, so we no longer need one, I really like you so I will keep your information on file and asked that it be flagged when a position opens, we should be opening up a couple more clinics in the next few months, so we will call you for the next phase" ummmm....so I got the job, but didn't?!?!? Lol. I just don't understand why they would call me for an interview when they have nothing open! I didn't even know there was a position posted, it was more of a random act that I turned my resume in there. Kinda kicking myself someone got hired Tuesday...but they made it sound like they had multiple positions opened...like we can interview you Tuesday between 12-3 or Friday 12-3...I kinda figured WOWWW them Friday since that'll be the end of their interviewing and also be more prepared of course... I'm just a lil confused as to what I should do next w that company. I love their hours 8-430 mon-Friday. Pay is $1.25 less then what I make at my PRN job now but it's PERFECT for me. While I was doing my research for my presentation, I dd noticed there were no LPn positions listed under the job postings?..should I sit and wait until I see something and call or should I bother him once a week To remind him of me? Hahah . I mean I feel like I would be starting ASAP IF thrree were an open position.....the whole thing just seems kinda WEIRD to me... Hired but not hired?!? I think moral of the story, when asked to be interviews, go to the soonest one possible.

wow! What a confusing scenary. First of all if they were not hiring why call you? It may have been that the Tuesday appointment that who ever they hired really sealed the deal for them. I would follow up with them but I would also keep trying to look elsewhere. I went through a similar scenary. I go for my second interview on Tuesday so let's see if this happens to me. With all of the preparation that you went through for this position, it only strengthens you more for your next opportunity. Dont give up, I am sure there will be something great out there for you.:nurse:

One of my friends made a good point that the position was probably posted internally first and they wanted to see what the public had offered besides the people they knew already? Thought that made sense!!!

hello, Zadia.

appreciate your share, i can see that you are so annoying , this occurs all the time, they post the job vacancy and do the interview, before the company's establishment, perhaps the company really establish days late, i guess they may set down all of the staff business, since this is good for business start. But how long you have to wait for the opening, that's the point , for me, i don't want to waste my time.

perhaps it is a establishing company is just a excuse , which is the worst slide. you got to think about it

Keeping yalll updated ... they called last Friday for another interview. I wen in on Monday thinking I was done. Then a cal today for a THIRD interview with the hiring manager tomorrow! !! Mind you the last interview was w a hiring manager for nurses and HR hiring manager also! Lol. I feel like someone is playing a joke on me! Last interview was alot harder then the first
