New Nurse with no experience

i graduated in 2016. Got my license in 2017 and moved to Houston TX in 2018. I had 2 babies so i stayed at home with them the whole time since graduation. Then, it's time for me to get back to work but problem is i have no experience related to health care field besides my rotation experience.

I applied many places but either got denied or no response. I also applied the StaRN from West center hospital. They replied with a list of questions like when did I graduated, what is my favorite department to work, my license number and so on. Also they requested me to confirm if i really wanna apply for this program.so I immediately replied them with a confirmation email and answered all those questions. It has been 2 weeks and nothing from them. I even email and asked but still nothing. Is there anyone has same problem? Does it mean i got refused? I got so confused

any advice because i seems so down to look up and apply job daily and turn out nothing work out. I feel really depressed. Are there any nurse in houston area can help? Thank you in advance

As an "old new grad" you face an uphill battle. You are unlikely to get a new grad / residency spot. That's just the sad truth.

I would cast wide net- apply everywhere and do NOT limit yourself to hospitals. You can probably be working next week if you look to nursing homes, assisted living, dialyis.

Thank you for your input. I thought the same thing when it's way too much competitive with brand new grad rn. I just applied few more spots for medsurg and dialysis. Hopefully i can get some calls

I also got an offer from a recruiter rn. They offer seasonal flu shots and wellness for employees so i gonna travel around for that. And they are willing to take new grad. Do you think should i take it for temporary now and can it help to build up my resume somehow?

Work is work and something on your resume is better than nothing on you resume.

Especially in a saturated market, even for new grads, like Houston.

I ditto what meanmaryjean said about applying for eberywhere including nursing homes.
