Hello everyone,
I am a first year nursing student in a BSN program, and I want to become more involved in nursing. A nursing internship in another country would be fascinating. I was wondering if any of you guys could provide me with some information about how to do an internship in another country and/or perhaps direct me to a credible website. Besides volunteering (already a part of), if you guys have any other suggestions about how I can be more involved in nursing, I would be open to hear them!

Perhaps you should speak with your nursing school and ask them to point you in the right direction. From my understanding though, participating in an internship for nursing abroad can expose you to a lot of different diseases and infections that we may not have here, so be prepared and be safe. You may need a bunch of immunization shots before you go (when I went to Ecuador, I had to get some shots). I do admit, participating in a program abroad does sound fascinating.

Sounds like an interesting idea! I agree with cracklingkraken about contacting your nursing school about this. There may be an instructor that knows a lot about this. I know we had one, and when I get there, I plan on being in touch with her (I can't right now with a 5 year old). She directed us toward this site InterAction | A United Voice for Global Change
