Training on Dialysis

I want to attend a training program on dialysis treatments.

Where can I train?

Which one offers the best training?

How much is the program fee?

How long is the training?

I've been looking on the website of National Kidney and Transplant Institute but can't find any info about it. If you can refer training centers and their contact numbers, I would highly appreciate them.

Thank you as always.

what's the difference bet. CRN and hemodialysis training???

sorry kinda confuse...

Hi. as far as I know..you have to take the exam from RENAP to be a certified renal nurse (CRN) and they even advise that if you were planning to take the exam you should attend their seminars prior because some of the questions are from there. ^_^

i took the cardio-renal training at PHC for 20k. it's a 1 month training consisting of ECG, BLS, ACLS, dialysis training. after the training you'll take the exam to be a CRN. i did the training and passed the exam even though i do not want to be a dialysis nurse. pretty foolish lol

hi volunteernurse! i would just like to know in the 5 weeks training, how much time/ days/ weeks were allotted for the lectures and the exposure/ clinical experience?? and was the training there at PHC really hands-on in terms of the clinical exposure??? is it better than the Philippine kidney dialysis foundation training program?? i'm really confused, please help me decide.. thanks!

can i just ask, if you're already a certified renal nurse here in the Philippines, are u also considered CRN if going to a different a country to work there??

The RENAP (Renal Nurses Association of the Philippines) is the body that issues certifications to be a CRN in the Philippines. It is only a local organization, hence, your certification (IMO) could not be carried out if you will try to work overseas. Nonetheless you can add that to your resume though. That you've been a certified renal nurse in your country.

If I'm not mistaken, other countries also have organizations that issue accreditation on certain specializations. Like in the US, I think they have the CNN (Certified Nephrology Nurse) as the counterpart. Well, that is if I'm not mistaken. Hope this helps.

God bless :smokin:

Dear fellow,

I am waiting for my us HI-B vis as a dialysis nurse. I am also confuse of where to get training here in the country (Philippines) on dialysis at a cheaper cost while waiting for my visa. Yes, I have no dialysis experience but I am currently working for almost two years in different clinical areas, except dialysis.

Though my sponsor told me that I will undergo training and seminar when I arrive in the US using their technical expertise and products for free as part of our contract ageement.

Thank you for any help.

USCIS Memo Subject: Guidance on Adjudication of H1-B Petitions on Behalf of Nurses provided a very specific general requirements for sponsoring nurses under H1-B classification in a specialty occupation. The USCIS will only approve H1-B non-immigrant visa petitions to nurses ONLY if they meet these requirements: (1) theoretical and practical application of a body of highly specialized knowledge, and (2) attainment of a bachelor's degree in the specialty as a minimum for entry into the occupation in the U.S. Your employer is required to submit to USCIS evidence that your education and work experience are equivalent to the required U.S. degree.

The cost of filing an H1-B for a nurse is a very expensive and complicated process that I hope your employer is not blindly getting into this without a good immigration specialist or lawyer to represent your case. It'll be a very expensive waste of time for both you and your employer if your employer did not get the approval from USCIS.

This calls for due diligence to all those nurses who are interested to apply for H1-B sponsorship. The process is not easy. Passing the NCLEX is not enough. In some instances, you have to get a nurse specialty certification to support your petition as a specialty occupation. So, employers or agencies saying the process is then it is too good to be true... and "too-good-to-true" is usually not true at all.

And I hope you did not pay any professional fees to have someone process your H1-B petition.
