Hello,
I am currently a perianesthesia RN at a hospital in Georgia. I have my BSN. I am trying to see if anyone knows of hospitals anywhere in the United States that sponsor their nurses on an immigration track. I am willing to travel anywhere. My current hospital does not sponsor its nurses. Any help is greatly appreciated. Nursing is my passion and I want to continue giving excellent nursing care.

I know about nursing agencies but not hospitals. The agencies are westways staffing (travel agency), o'grady peyton, interstaff and shearwater healthcare. The catch is that you have to sign a contract to work with them for a couple of years, 2-3yrs depending on the one you choose with a penalty fee if you leave before completion. Good luck!

I would be surprised to see a hospital sponsor international nurses for a green card directly. If you asked this question 12-15 years ago I would have said yes without batting an eyelash. Nowadays, with a fragile economy that could literally crash any moment, hospitals find it more fiscally responsible to go through a staffing or recruitment agency rather than sponsor nurses directly.
That way, the mitigate the costs associated with sponsoring a nurse for migration to the U.S.

My current employer sponsored me for a green card. I’ve been a green card holder for a couple months now.
I have to say I’m very fortunate they decided on that route for me, because the hospial did say it is a big investment, and they have never done it for nurses before. I was the first nurse to be sponsored, so there was a lot of smoothing out and preparing the appropriate paperwork to submit.
I did go to nursing school in the US and did all my clinicals, externship, and senior practicum hours at this hospital, so I’m familiar with its settings and functions. My alma mater also had a very good relationship with this hospital, and my dean advocated so much for me to be sponsored, so I think that’s why I was lucky.

Oh, thank you but it's okay. I'm not looking for a job or a sponsorship for a visa. I'm just interested to know what your general location is. I'm just curious.

Can you cancel the contract even without starting yet? And the agency didnt pay anything yet?

I know someone who did that with passportusa because of delayed filing with no implications. Agencies are different but it seems plausible to not be liable if they never did fulfill their part of the contract
