If anyone else applying for the nursing corps scholarship 2015-2016 is anything like me then you've been googling like crazy trying to find out information on how to apply or what they need or even previous years winner. Soooooo.....if anyone is applying this year around or previously has and was or wasn't accepted please tell me your experience! Here are my stats PLEASE share yours if you'd like....

I received a finalist email last week and returned the documents right away and went from finalist to in final review. This morning, I received the congratulations email again and my status reverted to finalist. This time they only gave 2 days to accept the award. I just resubmitted the required paperwork and am in final review again. Has this happened to anyone?

Wow, no this hasnt happened to me. It did happen to a few folks last year though. They blamed it on a glitch in the system.
I know recipients recieve stipend in november. Does anyone know when the stipend startes? Like in november do you recieve monthly stipends from July august September October and november? I thought I read somewere that they start it in july

When I called HRSA regarding the stipend, they said I would receive it for every month of the academic year. I understood that to mean, during the months that I have classes.
Hi ya'll! I've been lurking for awhile and just got my email that I am a finalist for the award today! I received it for a dual-degree program RN/NP program. I had an EFC of 0, GPA of 4.0 in nursing school and 3.9 for my previous BS.
Does anyone have any idea about the taxes for the award? Is it yearly or after graduation? Is there any information on how much we should save for that payment (my school is ~50,000/year). Also upon graduation, does it matter what kind of nurse/NP we chose to be as long as it is in the correct type of facility?

I got mine at the very end of July. There is still a chance people won't accept awards or won't get the information in on time so they still might do a credit check sometime this month. :) keep your head up!
NMW1982, there have been several scholarship recipients who are NP students. The first three who posted about their scholarship notification were NP students, and matchanurse who just received her notification yesterday is an NP student.

I read in the application info that the award year is from July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016. If you were in summer courses as of July 1st your stipend begins as of that month. If not your stipend begins the month you begin the fall semester.
