Hello!
If anyone else applying for the nursing corps scholarship 2015-2016 is anything like me then you've been googling like crazy trying to find out information on how to apply or what they need or even previous years winner. Soooooo.....if anyone is applying this year around or previously has and was or wasn't accepted please tell me your experience! Here are my stats PLEASE share yours if you'd like....
maryland full time nursing student.
VP of my local student nurses association
1st semester done ( :) ) asking for 2 years assistance
GPA 3.44
EFC 0000
4 years of community service in underserved communities
So I'm an NP student and I haven't heard anything yet either...... Is this bad news for me?
I don't think so. They announce in waves and being an NP student your a front runner for the scholarship depending on you financial need but either way they will look at you first. I Wouldnt Worry if I were you....even thought I've chewed all my nails off
I'm in an Accelerated BSN program..And last year I could've sworn they heard August 1st when I read a thread...it's almost August and nothing:unsure:
I applied as well, (NP student). My program is actually a DE program BSN to MSN (3 years but I am in the last year now), I finished the BSN in May and am already in the NP portion. I applied two cycles ago and didn't receive the scholarship, applied this time around just for the NP portion. Really hope 2nd time is a charm, EFC is 0 and GPA is 4.0.
Best of luck to everyone!
I've been creeping on this thread ever since I applied for the scholarship and had to make an account to comment cause I'm dying because--
My credit was checked today (it showed up as CREDCO on credit karma and I called them and they told me it was HRSA) and I was really excited until I read last years thread and saw that people had theirs checked and then didn't recieve a scholarship :/ So here's hoping that my check is an indicator of good news!
Im in NJ (which seemed to hear earlier last year than other states) and am starting an NP program btw.
I've also been checking every day! The anxiety is killing me.
I'm entering an Accelerated BSN program, 3.5 GPA, EFC 0. I'm also a lifelong volunteer, with 14+ years of service to underserved populations, including 2 years as an AmeriCorps VISTA... Hopefully that will help, even if my volunteer experience isn't in healthcare. :)
Have all of you had a chance to look at the scoring criteria? I believe that I was posted in the 2014- 15 board.

No I'm considered associates even though I'm taking my BSN classes at the same time. But I'm full time. And then once my associates classes are over I'll be considered BSN for one semester till I graduate with my BSN
