Did I get the job?

  1. Today I had an interview with a CTU manager. The interview was all clinical questions and most of the questions I was able to answer apart from the few I missed. When the interview was over he asked me if I had any questions for him and I asked a couple including when will I know if I got the job? He said it is ultimately up to his manager as she is the one that officially hires people. He proceeded to say that I did great and that I will make a great addition to the team and that it is most likely gonna be a yes. He proceeded to tell me the uniforms are navy scrubs and that I'll start off at night shift.
Now some of my friends who were hired at that hospital got the job on spot however, since the woman who hires was not part of my interview today I didn't get hired yet. Does this sound like a no or a yes? I'm stressing here

It sounds like a maybe. It's impossible to tell. I have had interviews where I thought I blew it... and got the job and interviews where I got the tour of the unit and welcome speech ... and didn't get the job.
    Good luck!

I just went through 3 different interviews over the last few weeks and heard close to the same thing at the end of each of them. The difference with the job I was offered and accepted was the manager mentioned sending my information back to HR. Did you go through a recruiter? All mine went through recruiters for the hospital so I was able to keep on top of things asking them questions if I needed. Good luck and I hope you get the job.

Don't count your chickens until they've done the first day of orientation.

    BUT, continue to be hopeful...

It doesn't sound like either. You didnt' get the job until HR calls you with an offer and sends you a written offer letter.

To me, if he told you the color of scrubs and you'd start on nights that means he liked you, so it all depends on what his pull is with the manager. But yes, it's ultimately up to HR. With my last job I was very hopeful when they said let's go on a tour of the unit and it was 15-20 minutes long. And then the missed call from HR about an hour later helped!

You're just never sure. I was offered positions for interviews I didn't think went well. I had one call me an hour after I left the interview to schedule part two. I sent an email yesterday about when final decisions will be made and heard nothing. With all the interviews I've had the past few weeks, I'd say hope for the best but keep interviewing. Nothing is certain till you get the option letter and even then, there's all the background stuff. Plus its the time of year when people are on vacation.

    Good luck to you.
