Did any prenursing students receive acceptance letters from any of Chicago City Colleges yet? I have not receive mine and just trying to get an idea.
Thanks
I don't know about the Truman rumor but this is what Daley's website says about its accreditation:
The Nursing Program is NLNAC accredited:
National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission
Accreditation
In the Fall of 2008 the Richard J. Daley College Nursing Program received NLNAC accreditation for 8 additional years.
Written comments should be submitted directly to:
Dr. Sharon Tanner, Executive Director,
National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission
Email: [email protected]
I talked with CCC, they basically said that the acceptance emails should be completed by tomorrow (they said hopefully that will be the latest). So there is a ray of light for those of us who have not heard anything yet. I was told only 1 person is sending out the emails now, so its slow going.
I'm waiting on my acceptance letter for the RN bridge program I was an Emt and now I'm an LPN. Has any other LPNs heard anything that have applied?
Hi dimplezbell22, I am not an LPN, but I am a returning student (withdrew the program in Fall 2010, Truman), I was told that I needed to take a remedial course (Nursing 140) in the summer to be elegible for re-admission. I tried to register for the class (it starts June 8th), and I was told by the truman secretary that I have to wait for notification by mail and that it will be by Friday. I just find it so frustating on how they just dont tell you over the phone!! you are also required to take Nursing 140 in the summer right?
i dont how true it is but i heard that the city colleges , all except Daley lost accredidation. check it out !
Hey Kam,
You can check the accreditation status of any school directly through the accrediting body's website. NLNAC accredites most associate degree nursing programs: http://www.nlnac.org/forms/directorySearch.asp
It appears both Daley and Truman are safe through 2016/2017, although it does note that they are both "with conditions". I'm not sure what that means.
