Nurses!
Right this very second there lives being destroyed in Texas.
And, like you, I wish I could go out on the front lines and help the relief efforts.
But, I can't up and leave my life.
I made a video to help spread the message about the Hurricane devastation and to encourage our fellow nurses to consider donating.
Since we can't leave our lives, donation is the next best option.
There are a TON of relief organizations and efforts.
Simply pick one and consider even donating a single dollar.
Anything makes a difference.
Let's stand up!
Tag your nursing buddies to get the word out.
Let's do what we do best and make an amazing difference in these Texan's lives.

I live in Wichita Kansas and I am an RN, I would like to volunteer my time to help the victims of hurricane Harvey. I worked at the astrodome in Huston during Hurricane Katrina. I have no idea where I would report or even if I can get into Huston. Please can someone help me with this information? God Bless Texas!
Absolutely!! I contributed to the Houston Food Bank today. One of my cousins & her husband were evacuated by boat today, and it's iffy as to whether the water is going to go into their house. Another relative is still dry in her place as of now. If I was between jobs, I'd go help - I read that they need nurses, social workers, etc.
Go to this website to sign up to volunteer: TDVR The TxBON will also expedite licenses if the application is clearly marked for disaster relief. Now those who have multi-state licenses are good to go now.
As OrganizedChaos said, there are many other places to volunteer besides Houston.
As one in the process of moving to the Corpus Christi area, all the prayers, donations of necessities and help are greatly appreciated. I am thankful that my house came through the hurricane intact and it is good to know that where and what we purchased was able to survive the Cat 4 hurricane. In 2 weeks we will be arriving at our home in Corpus.
CrunchRN said:Nicely done. I am in Fort Worth and the scope of this event is just unbelievable. I plan to donate money and blood and hopefully help in any way I can.3 shelters open in Dallas and preparing a 4th in the convention center to take in 5,000 people starting tomorrow.
They are going to have to evacuate Ben Taub hospital with 350 patients they are saying.
Just unreal. All these people are going to need homes and jobs. Not sure how you even do that. Thankful for all the dedicated people and professionals that are giving their all to help and for efforts like yours.
Honestly, I can't even imagine. I suspect the news doesn't even come close to the devastation. Thank you for what you do.
We are Houston Strong!!!! Most people were out helping yesterday, we were in the rain donating and volunteering, we had to wait in lines to get into the few grocery and department stores that were open to buy items needed by people who were evacuated from their homes. A friend's sons and his friends from college worked through the night on Monday into Tuesday rescuing people from their flooded homes. It was gut wrenching to watch my city go under water like that. So much damage, so many lives changed forever, but by God's grace, we will get through this and we will rebuild, it may take time, but it will get done.
Thank you all so much for your love and support. Thank you.

All of the Texas coast will rebuild. I'm sorry for your loss. So many of my friends came home to nothing. I am just devastated for them. My heart breaks for everyone. I just want to win the lottery to help everyone. Watching my home town get demolished was just so painful.
