  1. they apply! im in face to face...they apply for us even from highschool! yes you can take pharm and patho else where! Im a face to face 2nd year student :) my friend is in eline! promise this info is good!
  2. right...and who will be coving for her?! HMM??? ....no but I do see where you are coming from...and many times I did not want to come in when i was the only one on my floor...and I wanted to walk off the floor MANY times...It is not that simple for me...just sharing my own opinion. I could not do that to people because I became a nurse for more than money and they are more than an assignment....I would then report them if anything went wrong on my watch....advocate!!! you are the last thing standing between people are the grave ...you do it because you truly care...
  3. Hey, question, I have an auto immune disease that I have had from birth. Never been told I cant donate blood and It is in remission but I wonder can I still donate blood? It isnt a disease that i caught, it is simply that my body attacks itself.
  4. Its ok....Ive never made a med error that resulted in death but it does happen....remember you ALWAYS ALWAYS check TWICE with other nurses or even a head nurse....he may get in to trouble...he probably wont get another job now...unfortunately nurses are the most trusted of professions and when we mess up like that it shows....
  5. no, she can't refuse it, I am pretty sure. Think of your patients....i know....It is hard...I would report them though.
  6. Remember fundamentals and not giving into codependency situations. Remember your role. I would suggest trying to ease him out of his room so he can interact with others besides you. I often tell patients like this "I shall stop in and check on you but I have to make sure everyone gets a piece of me today! Im just to fun! lol" or something light hearted to make him laugh. He sounds scared and lonely. I know it is so hard to walk away but you have to remember your other patients and how you could cause them harm....REMEMBER CAUSE NO HARM....always. And if you neglect their needs for an others wants....you could cause issues. But you sounds like a caring person who truly is hurting...it isnt an easy job but thats not why you did it!!! i get it....just follow that advice and realize you are only human.
