Hi Everyone,
Can anyone suggest a good teaching topic relating to heart diseases?
I was thinking of maybe a topic on returning veterans and the link between PTSD and early onset of heart diseases. I prefer an audience that is unique and not often thought of by the health industry.
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Since the healthcare industry is focusing on childhood obesity (I think that Mrs. Obama is focusing on this as well), that may be a good topic for discussion. I realize that you are looking for something outside of the norm, but you would be able to generate more interest and have a larger impact on the crisis of this disturbing trend in America if you gave your lecture on this. I can't tell you how many kids we have in the hospital with elevated pressure and type 2 diabetes from obesity.
You could also do a lecture on heart disease in women. If you wanted to have a real "punch", you could possibly do a lecture on the incidence of heart disease in female nurses. THAT would be interesting!
