I'm a nurse here in the Philippines and my NCLEX CA has expired last March 2013, Now I have an opportunity to work in Guam as a nurse. Do I need to sit again for an exam for the NCLEX? or is it still possible to ask CA BON to forward my test result to Guam BON even if it is already expired? I know your records will be destroyed if your test result has expired.

You need to apply to Guam and ask plus pay a small fee CA BRN to forward results. Generally you do not have to sit NCLEX again

thanks silverdragon

Can I still ask CA BRN to forward my NCLEX results even though it's already expired and my records were already destroyed?

NCLEX results are not destroyed just your application file so CA should still have them and be able to send on

Thank you so much Silverdragon for answering all my questions. more power to you:)

I think its best if you call Guam BON directly and ask advice from them. Im also a nurse from the Philippines who took my NCLEX in Ca way back in 2007! In April I called Guam board of nursing about endorsing my test results but was told that they do not accept test results, only an active license. Good thing I was already in the process of endorsing my results to Texas. Im glad to say that by God's grace I recieved my Texas license this May 1. Now im in the process of endorsing this active license to Guam. I dont know if they will give you the same advice, I might have been told this because my NCLEX results are almost 6 yrs old already, but I hope you will be successful in obtaining your Guam license.

I am a US RN and currently residing in states, in my opinion, if your license is expired you have to contact BON California or visit their website and inquire within how to renew your license. For Sure there is a surcharge fee for reactivation of your license.

Next Step, Visit this website NURSYS.COM this is the only legit website authorized by NCSBN to release license verification. California i believe is in the roll of nursys archive. You can check the status and all information pertienent to your license.

Last step, by paying certain fee i think 30 dollars you can request license verification through that website, they will forward your license directly to guam.

Take note that it is your responsibility to apply by endorsement in guam once your license is reactivated.

good luck to you.

But the member doesn't have a license as CA will not issue one without a US SSN which they will not get until they are in the US on a valid work/immigrant visa

Hi, to the thread starter, I want to know if you're a us citizen or legal permanent resident that's why you're able to work in Guam? Can a nurse in the Philippines with NCLEX and US RN license also work in Guam, how is it done?

I want to take NCLEX for GUAM state, and also im planning to just take the exams here in the philippines. What would be the first step that I should take. Thank you!

You need to meet requirements, suggest checking their website out and starting the process. One thing I will say is only pick Guam if you plan on nursing there. If not then pick the state you really plan on working in and meet their requirements. Only exception will be the states that require a US SSN
