I just submitted my application to the Nurse Corps Scholarship, I just found out about this a few months ago anyone have any advice or tips? I am most worried by my SAI number. It is within the range but its on the upper end more than lower.

You are eligible if you:
Are a U.S. citizen (born or naturalized), a national, or a lawful permanent resident
Are an accepted or enrolled student in a nursing degree program at a United States accredited school of nursing
Begin classes no later than September 30
Don't have any federal judgment liens
Don't have an existing service commitment
Aren't overdue on a federal debt
Note: Preference to those who need the most help financially.
Why should you apply?
If you receive an award, you'll get a monthly stipend—and they'll pay your
tuition;
eligible fees;
reasonable costs (includes books, clinical supplies/instruments, and uniforms).
If we get the scholarship, can we still apply for the Pell grant for the next school year?
So I spoke with a HRSA info specialist and she said that you can get the Pell grant. However, you'd want to make sure that the school doesn't use those funds to bill you for tuition, because if you do - HRSA will only pay the difference.
However, she did say that you would need to speak with your financial officer to see if they could receive the funds without applying them to your tuition bill - that way you could get a refund check from the school once they see you owe nothing.
