I just submitted my application to the Nurse Corps Scholarship, I just found out about this a few months ago anyone have any advice or tips? I am most worried by my SAI number. It is within the range but its on the upper end more than lower.

You are eligible if you:
Are a U.S. citizen (born or naturalized), a national, or a lawful permanent resident
Are an accepted or enrolled student in a nursing degree program at a United States accredited school of nursing
Begin classes no later than September 30
Don't have any federal judgment liens
Don't have an existing service commitment
Aren't overdue on a federal debt
Note: Preference to those who need the most help financially.
Why should you apply?
If you receive an award, you'll get a monthly stipend—and they'll pay your
tuition;
eligible fees;
reasonable costs (includes books, clinical supplies/instruments, and uniforms).
I refuse to argue with someone on the internet . I'm not upset but you will not call me a liar . When I'm just repeating what I was told by a nurse corps representative. But if I do get COI I will not post it in this group moving toward. All I was trying to do was help . I have already received my credit check. Good luck.

Future Nurse was just expressing concern that the information might not be entirely accurate. This could be a misunderstanding since we can't perceive tone or body language in written communication. I did not have any student loans prior and they pulled my credit
I don't understand why some people get a credit check and some do not that's very strange to me they make it seem like they run everyone's credit but clearly that is not the case
So I spoke with a HRSA info specialist and she said that you can get the Pell grant. However, you'd want to make sure that the school doesn't use those funds to bill you for tuition, because if you do - HRSA will only pay the difference.
However, she did say that you would need to speak with your financial officer to see if they could receive the funds without applying them to your tuition bill - that way you could get a refund check from the school once they see you owe nothing.
