Updated:   Published

I just submitted my application to the Nurse Corps Scholarship, I just found out about this a few months ago anyone have any advice or tips? I am most worried by my SAI number. It is within the range but its on the upper end more than lower.

Apply to the Nurse Corps Scholarship Program

You are eligible if you:

  • Are a U.S. citizen (born or naturalized), a national, or a lawful permanent resident
  • Are an accepted or enrolled student in a nursing degree program at a United States accredited school of nursing

  • Don't have any federal judgment liens
  • Don't have an existing service commitment
  • Aren't overdue on a federal debt

Note: Preference to those who need the most help financially.

Why should you apply?

If you receive an award, you'll get a monthly stipend—and they'll pay your

  • tuition;

Could someone please explain to me what the credit checks are for? I spoke to my FA office and they aren't aware that the Nurse Corp Scholarship does credit checks. I did receive one yesterday but I am wondering why is that.

The credit check is a good sign, you're in the running to become a finalist. The credit check is important, and not everyone receives on. For the people who said they didn't receive a credit check they did, but didn't see it. Like a poster posted above he had to look for it in a specific manner which a lot of people tend to overlook. Why some people don't get the scholarship, is because they had discrepancies on there credit report. They do everything in groups so I'm sure there will be another batch for credit checks.

I spoke to customer service today and she said they'll run one on everyone so I hope that's a telling sign 🤞🏽

I'm not trying to be that person, but they will not. It's on the facebook threads and the allnurses groups prior. They told people last year that submitted meant under review and that wasn't true. It's best to just wait it out, especially when they come out with next batches.

I did receive my email about my application being in progress the beginning of the month, but I haven't received a credit check yet. I'm staying positive. My score is  -1500. Prayerfully I get a check soon. Good luck to everyone!

I have a -1500 SAi and just got my credit check today!!

I wondering if those who are seeing there credit check had it yesterday. Mine only showed under the disputes section in the app yesterday (which takes several steps to get to) but today it shows on the main "reported inquires" page.

I wonder if they're actively still making checks or if they did a batch yesterday

Me either and I had the same score of -1500. I'm hopeful but not at the same time because I don't want to be discouraged if I don't. If I'm awarded I'll be done next September but will still owe a 2 year commitment. So there's pros and cons to it but nonetheless it would have been a huge blessing to receive it.

Guys, I might throw a chair out of a window. The experian website won't let me see my report because it isn't able to authenticate my information and the phone line won't connect me to a human 😭

It didn't show on my bank app keep trying to get into Experian. Also, if you don't see it on the reported inquiries page when you get in check under disputes.
