I don't know what to think when it comes to my application. I received the email that my application is "under review" on 08/07/24, but when I check the status on the website it shows "submitted". I checked Experian and didn't see a credit check and my SAI is high compared to everyone else. I guess time will tell, fingers crossed!

I've also read that emails are accurate, but often the website doesn't reflect. For example, someone might get an email that they are a finalist, but the website still says "Under Review". So they will call HRSA and are told the email is accurate.

I had an SAI of -1500.. had my scholarship essay reviewed by previous awardees & had letters of recommendations by previous providers I worked for & a previous higher up teacher from a previous medical degree & did not receive a credit check yesterday.. feeling extremely discouraged at this point & hopeful things will turn around 😔

Try not to be discouraged. I don't know what the criteria is for a credit check, but I've read in several other forums that credit checks don't seem to hold a lot of water on whether someone will get selected or not.

Thank you! I sure am trying not to let it get me down - trying to stay hopeful & positive

to everyone that hasn't seen a credit check yet, don't get discouraged! I am sure these are done in batches. like some have said, its not really telling on who will get awarded or not, its actually part of the application process, so they usually have to do it whether it was yesterday or sept 30! the only reason someone may not get one is if your credit is frozen! your time is coming so stay positive & pray!

Thank you 😊

We still have lots of time but at least we know they're working on things and we should see results soon. Good luck everyone and stay in good spirits. Trust the process because what is for you will always be for you and is never delayed!

Could someone please explain to me what the credit checks are for? I spoke to my FA office and they aren't aware that the Nurse Corp Scholarship does credit checks. I did receive one yesterday but I am wondering why is that.

It's to see if you're delinquent in federal debt such as student loans.

They are looking for any delinquent federal loans (I.e student loans, irs, etc.) if you do not have any you're in the clear if there are some discrepancies that usually disqualifies a candidate.
