Nurse Corps Scholarship 2018-2019

Published

Hi Everyone, I'm planning to apply for the HRSA NurseCorp Scholarship this year. I figured I would go ahead and start the next thread for this award year. I'm currently finishing up some of my prereqs and will be starting my BSN program in June. I know the application date hasn't been released yet but from what I have seen on other threads, it should be opened sometime in March/April with a deadline in May. I've also read that the prompt questions have been the same from one award year to the next so I have begun working on them as well as trying to figure out who I would like to use as recommendations. I would love to hear from all who plan to apply this year.

Same, me too. The wait is excruciating!

I did receive a counter sign but I called on Thursday and was told that did not mean I got the scholarship. I really do not understand exactly what that means. Then I received an email that states, "my portal says final review, and I need to go by the status of the portal." So I am really confused. The contract seems to be very clear.

So we were all very confused by this and it certainly doesn't help that people are told one thing and others another, but what we learned is that our contracts have to be signed by 2 people. Right now, we all have Jamie King but we're waiting on the actual secretary's signature. I'm not worried and you shouldn't either. We've got the scholarship and we'll be hearing from them sometime this week with our participant email. :)

I don't think we are waiting on any signatures. The signature on the contract should be the "authorized representative". I believe it is a binding contract. The whole thing is very confusing though.

Thats what I and most people thought. But several people have called and been told that the Nurse Corps Scholarship specifically requires 2 signatures unlike the other ones they offer.

Honestly, I do believe that we have the scholarship and I still think that Jamie's signature is enough but who knows. We'll find out this upcoming week if it's 1 signature or 2.

I spoke with them the other day . They said Jamie King is the secretary's authorized representative . We are just waiting for our participant email. No one has told me two signatures. Read the guideline packet . Everything is pretty clear that we got it. No worries!!!!

I'm just passing along with multiple other people have been told. I have no idea if it's 1 signature or 2 that is needed. I'm sure that if we accepted the finalist offer and our contract was signed by Jamie it's sufficient. HRSA tells different thing to different people so there's a lot of confusion out there.

Still nothing here

I reaaaaally think there was only one wave.

1 more week of the unknown.

Soooooo sad!! í ½í¸© Let's see who gets email, of any kind, first!

My application states under review. No email.

Hello I just received the email stating I'm a finalist i have until tomorrow to hand in my paperwork. When I read this thread I was sure I didn't win because I hadn't gotten an email yet and I saw everyone had their email so early but today I received my email :)
