Hi Everyone, I'm planning to apply for the HRSA NurseCorp Scholarship this year. I figured I would go ahead and start the next thread for this award year. I'm currently finishing up some of my prereqs and will be starting my BSN program in June. I know the application date hasn't been released yet but from what I have seen on other threads, it should be opened sometime in March/April with a deadline in May. I've also read that the prompt questions have been the same from one award year to the next so I have begun working on them as well as trying to figure out who I would like to use as recommendations. I would love to hear from all who plan to apply this year.
Yes! Thank you as well! We need positivity! I hope we hear back something good soon!! P.s: I'm in a full time DNP track, but for some reason I have a feeling my work is what might be causing some stigma... I'm working so I can afford to eat and and support my family... hope they take all of this into consideration for us.
Hey everyone ,I called today and they said they were going to escalate my participant confirmation since Jamie King countersigned my contract. Since it was signed on the 14th that's when our contracts were in effect. So congrats to everyone . Keep a look out at your portal !
So since Jamie King signed it, it means we are officially participants? Thank you Lord!! I'm so happy, I could cry.
I received my initial finalist email and paperwork Aug 20 and submitted it on Aug 21. I then received the signature Sept 14. Its at the end on the 4th page if you scroll. Just keep checking . My credit check was done the 21st as well so maybe something was on your credit? Who knows. This has been a process.

After they sign it, what is next? I don't want to tell anyone I got it if i didn't, but the contract looks to be pretty clear. It appears once they sign it- it is done deal. Am I wrong?
You are right. Jamie King is the secretary's designee. It is a done deal after that . Our contracts begin the day it's signed. They told me initial payment won't begin until first week of November but they notify our schools ASAP the lady told me. I called and she said her system still shows it's in final review and she put in an expedited email or something so that her system reflects the signature. She said to look out for our portals on any changes and our emails.
A girl on the Facebook group said she has the "participant" tab under the role tab and that her contract disappeared. All of this happened earlier today. I checked my account to see if I had the same thing, I didn't but I'll probably have one by the end of this week. I read in last year's thread that the turnaround time from the contract being countersigned to receiving the participant email was about a week. I'm thinking it'll be the same for us. God willing.
Hey everyone,
I was the facebook girl. Yesterday my application said in final review and the signed contract was at the bottom. Today, under roles "participant" appeared and the contract was gone. Status went from "in final review" to "under review." I have no idea what any of that means, but I'm hoping they get to the chase and send us our final confirmation! My contract was also signed on the 14th.
For everyone's info, here are my stats:
EFC: 3780
Program: ADN, two years of funding
GPA: 4.0
Location: I live in a very rural part of SW Colorado, close to New Mexico. Practically every location here is a designated shortage area and fits the criteria, so I don't have to change my life around to fulfill the contract as I already work in a shortage area. Wondering if this has any pull on our applications?
Anyways, best of luck to everyone!

Wow- you are very well qualified, like you said my only concern on your application is your program is part-time. But, let wait and see. You will be accepted.
