Nurse Corps Scholarship 2018-2019

Published

Hi Everyone, I'm planning to apply for the HRSA NurseCorp Scholarship this year. I figured I would go ahead and start the next thread for this award year. I'm currently finishing up some of my prereqs and will be starting my BSN program in June. I know the application date hasn't been released yet but from what I have seen on other threads, it should be opened sometime in March/April with a deadline in May. I've also read that the prompt questions have been the same from one award year to the next so I have begun working on them as well as trying to figure out who I would like to use as recommendations. I would love to hear from all who plan to apply this year.

Where is roles even located?

Next the we logout button.

Hey everyone,

I was the facebook girl. Yesterday my application said in final review and the signed contract was at the bottom. Today, under roles "participant" appeared and the contract was gone. Status went from "in final review" to "under review." I have no idea what any of that means, but I'm hoping they get to the chase and send us our final confirmation! My contract was also signed on the 14th.

For everyone's info, here are my stats:

EFC: 3780

Program: ADN, two years of funding

GPA: 4.0

Location: I live in a very rural part of SW Colorado, close to New Mexico. Practically every location here is a designated shortage area and fits the criteria, so I don't have to change my life around to fulfill the contract as I already work in a shortage area. Wondering if this has any pull on our applications?

Anyways, best of luck to everyone!

What is the Facebook name?

Mine only has home ,account settings and logout nothing with roles. I wonder what that means

I hope this is over at the end of the month... what a drag. I will never reapply, this is crazy.

First week of November?! That's absolutely ridiculous. Not for nothing, but I am in an Accelerated BSN program with 22 credits and no time for a job... what am I supposed to do until November with no type of income whatsoever? That's just absurd.

So, I callled this am to ask about Part-time program with MSN PMHNP. I also asked about deadline being extended in Oct, as someone had posted earlier. He told me deadline is still Sept. 30....not Oct. He did say all would be notified by 9/30/18. Said still could have some awards made, so "don't loose hope." Guess that is standard answer?!!

Are you going to call and see what that means?

5 minutes ago I received an official email saying "you were not selected to receive a scholarship". I'm assuming that's the end of it for me. I haven't heard anything back from nurse corps. The email I got was from NHSC scholarship program. Unless they combined the two? Not sure. But either way, congrats to everyone else!! I'm gonna see if I can get into the faculty loan forgiveness instead ;) still doing primary care tho! Not changing anything for me at all. For those that also didn't get it, don't lose hope!!! Where there's a will, there's a way! I made it this far, as an immigrant from South America, undocumented through college and managed to find a way to work multiple jobs during full time nursing school (also depending on clinics similar to the ones you all will serve!)... you all got this! Best of luck to everyone :)

Hi Pam,

I'm sorry to hear!

Sorry to hear that, Pam; and thanks for sharing. My application is still under review...
