Nurse Corps Scholarship 2017-2018

Published

Hi everyone,

I am interested in applying to the nurse corps scholarship 2017 2018 in order to pay for my accelerated program of sixteen months. I have a bachelors in sociology. I have done quiet a few researches. The application cycle will be open this month but I don't know which exact date. I have read discussion threads of previous years and have found really helpful information. I want to create a platform where interested applicants can ask questions, share information, discuss and help each other.

Thanks

Hi all, this is my first time posting so congratulations to all who have their finalist award/in final review statuses. Super excited that I was offered the scholarship last Friday and submitted all of the supporting documents on Monday but my school will only accept the "participant" status as proof of tuition payment.

My dilemma; inability to obtain a student loan w/out a cosigner due to too much student loan debt ($133,500 and counting between Federal and private loans). Oh, the irony. My parents were my cosigner's, however, they have an error on their credit reports. Now I am freaking out that the school may drop me before I become a participant :(

Not ridicule. Just a big obligation to get into. I understand the stress of school and kids. Good luck with everything!

Hey Future Nurse Emily, I was just wondering when did participation emails get sent out last year?

I see a ton of questions being asked that have already been answered elsewhere in the thread or in previous year's thread...there is a lot of wonderful information here if you just take a few minutes to look for it! :) Emily has been very patient through this whole process (thank you!) and I just think she'd appreciate all of us doing our best to seek out an answer before asking her a question...just a thought.

People should be able to ask any question that they want. Maybe they are new to the thread and don't really know how much info is already out there. Some of us have stalked these threads for years. Others may have just stumbled upon them. Let's not make people feel like they should already know what we know just because they haven't been as invested in these threads as others. If you would like to reply to someone's question and help... great. If not just keep scrolling. No one is obligated to answer.

I'm not implying that questions should not be asked, but I thought it might be helpful to folks to know that the information is already there - so they might actually be able to get their questions answered more quickly by simply searching for a few minutes. I'm not being judgmental nor unfriendly, just a suggestion.

From what I saw the first wave was 7/26 and the last was 9/30.

Did you show them the finalist email? I would as to speak to the highest up person I can.

I didn't ask nurse Emily a question directly. I simply posted for the first time on this thread excited that I received the scholarship yet voicing frustration with the fact that it's taxed essentially by the same entity that awards them. No one else finds that a bit ironic? Still very grateful to have the award - I just may have to take out MORE student loans to cover the taxes. Again, ironic.

Hi all. No news yet. I just joined the board. No credit check, and status is under review.

Efc: 0

GPA: 4.0

ABSN program in Colorado.

Congrats to those who have gotten an offer

You shouldn't have to do that. That's why I say to contact an accountant.

Thank you!! Everybody has a right to ask questions if people don't feel like answering then don't but don't cone in here and tell people what to do and what not to do!

Please keep this thought to your self people have a right to ask questions and you have the right to keep it moving w/o answering as well.

Some people are in accelerated program and they don't have a lot of time to be going through all those previous posts abs whatever their reason is they should be able to ask a question regardless!
