I am interested in applying to the nurse corps scholarship 2017 2018 in order to pay for my accelerated program of sixteen months. I have a bachelors in sociology. I have done quiet a few researches. The application cycle will be open this month but I don't know which exact date. I have read discussion threads of previous years and have found really helpful information. I want to create a platform where interested applicants can ask questions, share information, discuss and help each other.
No credit check for me :/ Ah well. Maybe I'm still in the running though. I have mixed feelings about this scholarship anyways. It's disappointing, but now I'll have more freedom after graduation...but with way more debt haha
I also saw on the NHSC guidance that summer tuition will be paid and the stipend amount for July to October will be paid in a lump sum in November. I didn't see that anywhere on the nurs corps guidance. But the same clause for tuition was there.
Did you see that they are saying we should hear Wednesday, because the website is going down this weekend and usually it is the Wednesday after the site goes down we hear. Fingers crossed!
For those asking about summer payments, as long as it is inculedes on the months your requested aid it will be paid for. The striped payments are paid retro from 7/1 and that payment and the ORC payments are distributed in October.
After the credit checks, are we waiting for finalist emails? Or award emails? Or are they the same thing?
Same thing. Finalist/Award emails will go out in waves. People will have 72 hours to accept/decline and submit the required paperwork. Once they accept and submit the paperwork then you wait for the BHW to sign the contract. At that point you are considered a participant and will be contacted by your analyst with instruction on how to work with your school.
I got my email on 7/26 and my contract was signed on 8/31. So it's still a process.
Do you know if you can change the months if you are offered an award? I requested 3 aid years but I didn't put July. So the aid years are still the same but the month is incorrect
