Nurse Corps Scholarship 2016-2017

Published

Greetings!

After binge reading the thread for 2015-2016, I decided it's time to start one for this year. I am a single mother opting to pursue a BSN after a post-quarter life crisis. Because I have multiple degrees, I have just about exhausted all of my financial aid options. I would like to hear from anyone applying for the scholarship. What's your story? What are your stats? Previous applicants and recipients I would like to hear your story too!

Starting at a private nursing school in May (with what little fin. aid I have left)

1 year AmeriCorps

1 year internship at group home for at-risk adolescents

5 years working with Dept. of Corrections (2.5 of which were counseling offenders)

EFC: 544

GPA: 3.9

Community service hours: 45

Location: GA

Okay I have all my documents uploaded now in pdf form and with my name and ID number. Just waiting to feel confident in my essays and for one of my letters to be turned in. I'm already starting to feel nervous!

I also realized I never shared my stats:

School cost: about 50k for the ABSN program

EFC: 0

GPA: 3.73

Location: Ohio

1 year teaching English to ESOL and special education students in a low-income school.

It's definitely not the best set of stats I've seen, but this scholarship would mean the world to my family and I!

Good luck stats look great to me

Did you guys put your entire first and last name on every document? I had my first initial and last name but then I saw they only wanted ID number according to the application guidelines so i took it off but now i think I will go back and add it back in -.- Just not sure if i should put my whole first name and entire last name too!

I could swear I read in the guidelines yesterday (I went to triple check) to put first letter of our first name, full last name, and ID number.

Thank you! I'll look too and let you know if I saw it elsewhere differently. It's so frustrating because on the application portal the guidelines for the supporting documentation is a little different than the guidelines! I just don't want to be not considered for something so silly

First initial and last name along with ID needs to be on every document uploaded :)

Hey guys!

I usually just stalk the forums every now and again. I think all of you guys have great chances of being selected!

EFC: 3316

GPA: 3.1, sadly

ABSN, first bach degree

Location: TX

I've done a lot of volunteering though, unfortunately it isn't nursing based but it was with underserved communities.

Can someone send me the verification form ? I've tried it on three different computers, it just will not show up! My email is [email protected].

I'd greatly appreciate it,

Thank you!

What is your email?

Could you send the verification form to me as well? It will not open on any computer I've tried. My e-mail is [email protected]

Thank you!

I'm sorry for some reason, since my application is already submitted it won't let me go back to the list to download the form again. I would have to edit and resume MIT to do it and I submitted mine on April 4th I want to keep it as submitted early.. I'm sorry I thought I would be able to help

Does the time of entry make a difference in the results? I am just submitting tonight because I keep tweaking my essays.

Verification form or the Authorization form?

I really don't know if it does but I'm hoping by mine being in early to get it announced to me sooner if I win. I'm hoping to find out in july and not in September since I start my program in august
