2019 Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program

Published

Hi Everyone,

I didn't see a thread created for the 2019 Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program yet. This will be my 3rd year applying. I'm applying as a staff RN with a HPSA score of 17. Hopefully, they open the application cycle soon.

Hello All,

First time applicant here! I am an RN, Site Score 19, and DTI approximately 167%. I am at a Public Hospital so only 15% if the funds apply to me this year. Just want to chat with everyone as we embark upon this long journey! I officially submitted today 3/25. Had some issues with Site and POC verifications, but I am happy to have completed it and submitted. Here is to having some debt lifted off of our shoulders for all of our hard work and dedication! Wishing everyone the absolute best!

Did you have federal loans that you uploaded from the NSLDS site? I have tried again and keep getting an error message. This is my third year applying and have never had this trouble before.

Try using Safari. I had this issue but make sure you are clicking log into source when it sends you to the Fafsa page and not manage. Chrome did not work for me.

Hi everyone, I'm just a student so please forgive my ignorance. Can anyone explain to me how the HPSA score is determined? Is it by specific area (city, zipcode, ect), hospital (Genreal hospital has one score but the private hospital across the street has a different score)? I'd love to participate in this one day, but I am very confused. I'm sure my area/ hospital will qualify somehow though because I currently work in a very needy area in Baltimore City.

I am not sure how they do the score, but you can figure out which hospitals you want to inquire about and call in to the customer service line for the program. The representative can look up the locations by the address and tell you what the score is. The score can change so keep that in mind. You will want to wait and check once you get offers, if you want to consider that factor, as the scores will be more accurate.

Hi,

Second year applying. Wishing everyone good luck!

FINALLY! got it all figured out and submitted! Second year applying. Good luck everyone!!!

I had issues logging in but finally got in and submitted around 3/10. 2nd year applying my credit was pulled twice last year but didn’t make the cut ? hoping this will be my year ????

The other threads post their DTI, Positon, Score, etc. do you guys want to do the same?

I’m an NP at a FQHC, I believe site score of 17. DTI is about 140%. First year applying.

First year applying- I'm a Psych NP in non-profit hospital with HSPA score 17 with a debt/income ratio >200% currently. Good luck everyone! Do you know of anyone who has actually gotten this award? How was it for them?

Personally I don’t, but I read through the long previous threads. Most say it’s okay besides the taxes associated. Not sure if it’s the same now, but hopefully someone will find this board and enlighten us.

RN D/I 180% - I did get a lot of credit pulls from credco on my transunion and equifax report on 4/8 & 4/15. I thought my HPSA was 17, but when I looked it appears it dropped for some reason to 13, so I do not have much hope. Last year I applied did not get a credit pull, the year before I did and my HPSA was 17. Not sure what my HPSA is really now.

I have not applied before. The HPSA score for my facility is 16. My annual salary will be greater than my debt. Should I apply or would it be a waste of time? Thanks for any advice.
