Hi Fellow Nurses!

Is anyone else anxiously awaiting the 2017 cycle opening?

I have applied several times and praying that 2017 is my year. I'm tier 1 - not faculty and not an NP.

Is anyone else out there?

From previous years it would appear a credit check is needed to even qualify for the award. Obviously not everyone gets on this page, but it seems if you don't have a credit check you don't make it past the 1st round, I have not had a credit check. I had one last year in early April. Who knows. It seems a credit check is done on everyone that qualifies initially. Not sure what the credit report is verifying other than federal debt.

Payment history is a big part of your credit score. I believe one of the eligibility requirements was for your student loans to be in "Good Standing". They also show up in your credit report, hence the reason for the credit check.

Just checked my most updated Credit Karma still no credit check so odd.
