Hi Fellow Nurses!

Is anyone else anxiously awaiting the 2017 cycle opening?

I have applied several times and praying that 2017 is my year. I'm tier 1 - not faculty and not an NP.

Is anyone else out there?

Thank you for sharing, yes I believe you have a good chance at this program or the other it will make a small dent hopefully, i hope they don't do away with the 10 year Public Loan forgiveness that is what I am hoping for still.

RN4KU, BSN, MSN I currently work in Killdeer, ND for Coal Country Community Health Center. Our HPSA score is 17 and my debt to income ratio is 294.4%. Overall, I think I have good chances of getting the funding...I just pray daily for it! Haha, I literally do though. I definitely can understand your struggle. I still cannot believe how expensive education is, especially being exactly where I have dreamed since I was in 10th grade and being in the worst financial situation I have ever been in. My student loans (private and federal) are ridiculous. I did do the stepping stone process of going from LPN to 2-year RN to BSN to DNP, so I had a total of 10 years and taking loans out for all of it. If you want to do what furthering your degree will allow you to do I would say go for it!

I'm glad you asked! I'm really getting nervous after reading about people who didn't get help! And I REALLY need help. They previously said they saw credit checks as early as April. But I haven't seen anything.

Me either. I applied last year as RN, but this year I am NP Tier 1, DTI 214% and in school for DNP. I was worried because I thought maybe credit check was looking for bad credit. Mine is not perfect as I am doing a debt program now but not for school loans. I called and they said they are looking for default on federal debt.

People started seeing credit checks mid-April, I believe. Fingers crossed I see one!

I'm following my Credit Karma pretty closely to wait and see if I get the inquiry. So far nothing.

Do I need to get credit karma? I have been checking my experian acct. I am usually notified if something new checks my report. Hopefully credit checks start soon... The wait is crazy...
